Extra Life 2014 Aftermath

Another successful Extra Life completed. We exceeded our team fund raising goal of $1500 by $45. This of course means we have to set the bar higher for next year.

I'm not going to try to name names because I know I will unintentionally forget someone... So, Thank You All for helping us to exceed our goal.

It wasn't easy, but for me, being surrounded by supportive people from all over the world made it much easier to complete the 24 hour session. At one point we had almost two full 12 man groups dropping and it was a lot of fun.

The numbers:
Number of People Participating in Extra Life 2014: 49,989
Funds Raised as of 10/26/14 at 6:25am: $5,102,500.90
Total funds raised by DHB members: $1545
Overall Team Rank: 472 of 5970 (top 10%)
Donations Received: 38
Largest Donation: $250
Average Donation: $40.66

If you were unable to make a donation this weekend, donation pages should be up through the middle of November. The hospitals we are playing for are:

Hello MWO Community,

My name is Tim "Gimpy" Beaudoin and you may know me from previous charity events such as Extra Life 2013 and WalkMS 2014. Today I am asking you to join members of Death's Hand Brigade in an effort to raise money for the Children's Miracle Hospital Network during Extra Life's Day of National Gaming on October 25, 2014. We will be playing MechWarrior Online for 24 hours straight and I will be broadcasting on Twitch for my entire 24 hour session starting at 9 AM Pacific.

Thanks for doing this charity event! Also you reminded me of Troy McClure in the simpsons: " Hello my name is Troy McClure and you might remember me form such movies as..." All joking aside, I hope all goes well in the fundraiser. It is a noble cause.
