I'm paying something like $30 to get that third GB on the card, which here-tell pays a dividend in many other games; It cost $12 to have a nickle plating on the heat pipes; $15 so the PSU could go Gold+.

But that's an axial fan-card in there with a CPU cooler measuring only 12cm, and this is not the greatest case know to man, for any purpose; You can add two fans (door and ceiling,) but you might be better off replacing the existing fans with something flowing moar cfm.

Ummm, a lot of the lower cost builds are not including Windows. If I am coming from an HP or a Dell, I can't use their recovery disks to install and OS. Make sure you are factoring in $90 for WIndows 7 or 8.1 OEM.

I like my Intel processors - spend the extra ~$70 to get a good i5. It'll maintain it's performance envelope a lot longer than a cheaper AMD. I know, there's a lot of debate between AMD and Intel - I prefer Intel. Better to buy 1 $200 processor over 5 years than buy 2 $130 processors.

I calculated the build to be $521 before shipping/rebates. Add $100 for a copy of Windows. I used an SSD because it's a GAMING computer - store your pron on a thumb drive. $70 will get you a 1TB Seagate and DVD Burner though...

Out on a limb over the PSU, once more: FSP is a manufacture, and so if the line gets good reviews, then this one should be OK, right? The bad news is you've got, like, two watts of breathing room, such as adding fans or drives could be an issue, let alown bigger/ badder CPU or cards …

I decided to update a few parts using the $40 you save on the Processor/Mobo combo by going AMD. This build has a slightly newer Video Card (AMD 300 series) and a DVD-RW player. I went with an AMD card to match the chipset and processor. Hard Drive, Case, PSU are the same. If you used this Proc/Mobo with my other build (nVidia card, no optical drive), the cost would be $486 before shipping/rebates.

Just like last time, you can swap the $70 SSD for a $55 1TB Seagate 7200 RPM Drive. I prefer performance in my gaming systems, so I recommend keeping the SSD.

Because not everyone needs a new OS disk. Why include it in the base price. It's an additional just like new monitors etc.
And for the record you don't need to pay anywhere near $90-100 for Windows.
7 and 8 keys are available for $44.

Also: A R7 360 is not up to the standard of a R7 265, which, in turn, is equivalent to the GTX 660 thing we've been hearing about for years.

OK, OK: It's still a "Z" model mobo; What do you want from me?

The case seems to have some airflow to it, but we have no clue what the heat will be like, so this nice, nickel-plated 120mm still might not get the job done; And it's not like that axial-fan card is helping …

But this is the cheapest on ASRocks' list, and for ~$15 I got 500MHz from the stock clocks; I spent another $20 for two more GB on the card (the cheapest 4GB card on the planet) … Then I splurged on the PSU: I only needed 381W, but this is as close as I could get while Gold; There is a Cooler Master Bronze at $20, and also a modular Bronze @$40, you could take seriously at this wattage, as ~4% of 400 means wat?

Turns out the PSU wasn't ever gon'a shrink, so instead I saved ~$15 with this graphics card, that eat an extra 40W. And it's only Bronze, on an AMD build.

I knew the cooler would cost this, but picking a case to go with it escalated quickly: There was something at $43 that would'a been OK, and there was even a HAF 912 for $40, but I like to give this cooler gobs of grill to breath through, and this Corsair seemed quality …

So, on a whim, I picked this terabad HDD. Another $15 doubles the size; $20 moar past that gets you a third terabyte, or else $30 to be the hybrid drive I keep using. Any of which would be less of a sucking chest wound then this thing.

Welp: Once I stuck a Macho in it, I got cold feet 'bout the cooler clearing the ceiling of the case; Out goes the Three Hundred Two, losing ~$10.

'Cause of the Macho, I think the sound card will have to sit down in PCI-E.16 #3, in stead of the top-most; I'm spending ~$35 for SLI compatibility on the mobo. But that's not what this PSU is up to, even if the theoretical overclock I typed in is never met.

Got a wild hair up my hoop to spring for that odd-ball M.2 drive: You might have to point a web-cam at it, in order to impress anybody atoll …

… So I just noticed the -9590 was cheaper then the -8370E I always go for: There had been innuendo the "King Vishera" stepping would take over the whole damn-line someday, so I'm running a gambit that it's happened by now. Teh Mobo has a heat pipe, the case seems a good fit for the air cooler used, and a really nice, all-around, Gold Plus on top.
