People always complain about hot maps, be it TT, CV or TD.
They did when they first came out and they still do

Only if you consider this to be a complaint "Oh great. I go with 6 LL and then I get this map! lol!"

Heat isn't as big of an issue for people who know how to deal with it.
The same reason ghost heat is useless, people who know how to work around it will deal with it, and those who don't, aren't really to blame for not knowing how.

completely irrelevant to the conversation since no one cares about the heat on TT.

If my tone was arrogant attacking it isn't a good substitute for attacking my message.
Not my fault you to offense to a blanket statement.

I did "attack" your message, because you are 100% wrong. and that 100% wrong message was said in a very arrogant manner for no reason at all. If you don't like being called out for being wrong and arrogant, then don't be wrong and arrogant.

Personally I don't **** my pants in anger when I drop TT, and I don't understand why you guys do.
I understand it sucks but some of the reactions are childish.

I guess you only speak in hyperbole.

I'll play mordor over night river any day. I freaking hate maps that force you to use different vision modes it's just annoying.

try harder to deflect from the point

What did I say about trying to hard to be condescending?

Call it offense or annoyance, either way you wouldn't have gotten so heated over my comment if you didn't have such an issue with what I said.
but whatever, be happy with with whatever you tell yourself.
Don't be upset that I frown upon players who make mountains out of mole hills or those who can't adapt to poor geometry or heat.
Two things you clearly have issues.
Especially since you get so upset when somebody makes a statement that has nothing to do with you unless you let it.

You wanna know why I suck at MWO? .. want to really know? Has nothing to do with heat, yeah, sometimes the map will get me stuck, but like you said, that you said..that you said..that you said.. It happens on all maps and is not a single persons thing..

But you wanna know the real reasons? There are two. I don't ever remember to look at the Enemy paper doll, I don't I hardly ever remember to look at what is weak, what is cored or the like.. just use to not getting meaningful locks or the like.

And the other reason.. that effects both my lasting ability and attacking my enemy? Ready for this? I'm color blind, that paper doll don't tell me crap when the colors all look the freaken same to me. Oh look.. its my paper doll.. it looks the same on all sides (the fact the maps background colors mess with its colors also doesn't help) .. oh look..its the enemy paper doll.. unless its bright red or such..it all looks the same to me.

So if you want to know why I tend to suck, that is why. Remember the bar graphs for the users and enemies body parts? That would solve so much for me.

But no, you keep believing I suck cause I can't pathfind or manage my pew pews.

Horrible visibility (fog + color palette) ,stuck-in-terrain, bad spawns...................is what i hate most in PGI maps

My personal worst:

1. The Bog..............ECM trees, terribad terrain, getting stuck everywhere, colors/fog, worst map in computer history
2. River S***ty (inc.Night).........small, spawns, visibility, terrain.........oooh ,i hate it sooo much, nothing frustrates me like it
3. River Colony...........fog , colors, lower FPS than most maps............. it could be fixed easily to be OK tho..

honorable mention:

4. Alpine......because of terribad spawns.......it could also be fixed easily,i think..
5. Terra Therma.....same as Alpine, bad spawn , the team that spawns closer to the center (hill) usually wins...
6. Frozen City Day.........forces me to use heat vision, halves my FPS..... ggclose Cryengine

Frozen City, only map that forces you to use busted heat vision(bring back CB heat vision) when blizzard hits, and before you say River City Night forces you to use night vision, it does not, I can see fine without heat or night vision on that map.

But every map with that stupid range haze(foggy haze past 500m or so), get rid of that too.

I would say Terra Therma, but not because I dislike the map because I dislike that no one in standard considers any strategy other that push to the center. But I guess that's true for a lot of the maps now days, strategy has kind of fallen out of the standard maps.

Terra Therma because it's usually all about the center. Even if you don't want to go center other people in your team will and if you don't have players who are willing to endure damage and push in then it's normally good game. There have been so many times where I've pushed only to find that the rest of my team have taken a few hits and backed off creating a massive traffic jam.

BOG. I HATE BOG.

ARGGGGGG.. Im stuck on a goddamn root again and cant maneuver. again. Oh, i cant get up these damn steps because i lost momentum. again. There is WAYYY too much crap that impairs movement on that map. Shame, because its pretty and could be quite interesting tactically if moving around it didnt make me want to stab myself in the face.

Still is, and will probably always be...Alpine. Worst designed map. Lopsided drops in Assault and even Skirmish. In those modes it is all about Mt. Tryhard. Which ever team takes that hill wins about 8 out of 10 engagements. One team is always closer to that hill than the other.

There is also no cover so a team (especially the team spawning in the low lands) can't move anywhere without the other team knowing.

The only tolerable game mode is Conquest.

I wish the Devs would tweak the map a bit. Maybe some fog in the low areas to help cover movement. Move Mt. Tryhard to more in the middle. Or, move the high ground base back behind that little cliff behind Mt. Try hard. That way the defenders have to come off that mountain to see the base capturers and take shots at them.

There are never enough maps, so i would not eliminate any map.

If i really had to cut out a map from the MM, it would be Caustic Valley.

Why: very boring. Pretty much every fight is peeking into the caldera or going around it. Lot of the map is wasted, and there is little cover.

I find it interesting based on the vote tally from the first post that no one hates on Tourmaline.

I've actually never had trouble with overheating on Tourmaline. Caustic is more frustrating because of the increased heat environment inside the caldera, and Mordor is...well Mordor.

I just think it's worth mentioning that for all the things people dislike about other maps (too small, too hot, not enough cover, pugzapper centralized environment objects) Tourmaline only really has heat as a negative. It's got phenomenal cover around the exterior of the map, but the middle isn't a mosh-pit of death either. It's large enough that lances aren't dropping on top of each other, but small enough that an assault can participate in a fight before the century ends.

Like you said, it has options.

If i have one vote it goes to River City...(both variants off course)...ways to small that map for 12on12.

This goes to all maps:
-not enough possibilities to play special roles
-all maps are "dead". Nothing moves, nothing is destructable, nothing really important to hold or go for (e.g. resupply/repair-bases, destroyable artillery sides which takes anway enemys possibility to use them...)
-not enough different routes to sneak up on the opponent
-and all in all, all maps are too small for the weapon ranges
-...many many more good suggestions found already in the forums

River City, I think. All the old smaller maps have the same issue since they went to 12v12, they are too small and offer little to no options. Fight at the citadel, yea....AGAIN. I do love the map when the fight breaks out in the city, and you get to maneuver within the streets, we need more city maps with that, but that is not how 99% of the fights end up.

Teams will gravitate to high ground (especially if there is cover).

Mt. Tryhard on Alpine (I9ish)
Citadel on River City
Volcano on Terra
Caldera on Caustic
The raised platform in the middle of Mining Col.
Center plateau in Bog

And to some lesser extent...
Drop ship ridge on Frozen City
Upper container area on Forrest

High ground often makes a difference and every team wants it. That's why most matches on Assault or Skirmish become King of the Hill.

River City Night... what a gong show. Spawns are too close, you can't see sh*t unless you want to burn out your corneas with night vision set all match long and players with experience on the map will vaporize you from distance because of their ability to recognize the slightest movement. I soldier on, though, because I know it will get better with usage.

I think the best way to make it work would be change the timeframe to River City Twilight... give us some kind of light source... even a slight one.

Alpine is only good in Conquest, otherwise its the worst. If they added some big rocks and maybe a bunch of large pine trees to help the lack of cover in many of the open areas it wouldn't be so bad.

Ugh just take Terra Therma out of the game completely. I know this game suffers from a severe lack of maps, but I would seriously celebrate the day this map was removed annually until the day I died, perhaps slightly after, spirits permitting.
