I really don't understand the hate for Bog. People claim to be getting stuck all the time, but if you've played the map more than three times you know how to move around in there. I never have problems with that, whether I'm in my Atlas or Locust.

Bog and some other maps wouldn't be quite as bad if not for the IMPERMEABLE FOLIAGE. Normally if you didn't have line of sight due to leafy foliage, in a war machine such as a battlemech, you would simply destroy the tree. Instead you get pounded from places you can't see by people who have played the map 10,000 times and know all the best spots to peck from

I don't play it that often, it's actually one of my lowest played maps, only three to four more times than Frozen City or River City (22 and 23 respectively), though oddly it has the highest win rate for me 1.43 win ratio...

-shrug- I don't know, all I know is I always manage to find a new way to get stuck on that map.

Maybe if Terrain destruction was a thing, then the map would be more bearable, but as it is... Well..

River city night. It has everything, too small for 24 mechs, the teams usually go nascar as a default move, and it's night.

Yup, still Bog since that came out. I still hate it more than River City.

Ankle-height ground clutter that can stop a 'Mech will never be a good thing, people. It's as silly as t*** on an Octopus.

Forest Colony because of the pea soup

Terra Therma, because the rest of the map is awesome aside from the caldera but every engagement ends up there

Caustic. Always hated it for it's hot center, its open sides, its nascar playstyle, the fact I most the time get a loss on it, im 10/13 on it atm, and the other fact that ive seen it now 24 times, about 10 of which were in my last 14 games........

Caustic Valley.
The most dull map in existence, by far when it comes to MWO.

Runner up... Alpine.

Frozen city. The gameplay is generally too 2-dimensional, either with ridge charges or trade offs between the city and the epsi gap.

Closely followed by Forest colony - similar syndrome, these maps are small and outdated for 12 v 12.

Terra therma gets the hates, but I feel this is more due to the linear style of play that everyone does everytime. I do not see why everyone must try take the damn crater. That's the only reason it sucks so its not up there cause that's the way people play, not the map.

LOVE - Mining colony (soo purdy) and HPG (Favorite map)

Caustic.

It's hot, too favorable to LRMs, and too dependent on MM to provide ECM support. The other night I got narc'ed, had no ECM on my team and basically had to just wait for the LRM rain to take me.

At least the conditions on Terra Therma are equal for both teams, and all players have to struggle to navigate the obstacles and steps on Viridian Bog.

Alpine Peaks

cuts out 1/3 of all builds due to design. You spend more time climbing and staring at the ass-piece of a pixel terrain than actual combat.

this map is possibly the laziest design by the map developers who only have a scant handful of maps and shows you how limited PGI is.

bog.. worse than therma. which is saying alot.

the game has all kinds of technical issues with terrain so make a map filled with nonsense everywhere.. great idea.

terra especially with new spawns is a joke with most paths leading seemingly nowhere
alpines new spawns are equally bad.
same battle 9 out of 10.
.
Could be a great map.

enjoy cauldron, manifold, crimson, tourmaline. All decent maps imo.good enough.

bog n therma disgust me. I hate them.

I would have to vote for Terra Therma. It's beautiful to look at but the strategic layout of the map is just boring to me. No matter if I'm playing a scout, skirmisher, brawler or sniper load-out, no matter my mech weight class. It's almost always the same engagement inside the volcano with a small force pivoting to the side. The flow of combat isn't as dynamic as other maps to me, it's very stagnant.

mordor. the fault is not about the map itself, is how pugland constantly rush the volcano. even with assaults miles away, nobody tries to come up with a different plan like pushing the lower road.
It's a little more viable in conquest at least. when is not just "mussssssssst go in volcano".

Terra Therma, AKA "Mordor", AKA "oh lord, not that sodding map again!" Because it's hot, the combat is dull (rush the ring and fight over an 8th of the map), it's slow (see hot and dull), and the terrain is out to kill you (which would actually be kind of nice if it wasn't on a map that is hot, dull, and slow).

I hate Caustic. The map is small, looks dull, have lots of the magical little sprite trees that only block vision up close, and the map lacks cover to fight in and around. Furthermore, I hate the pipelines and trying to guess which pipes I can cross in any given mech. Jumping ontop of the few structures that exist is an invitation to get stuck, and at times fall through the map. We still have few maps, but I'd rather see Caustic taken out of rotation than have to play on it again.

For me it used to be Therma but Bog knocked that down to second most disliked map.

The Bog, oh God the Bog. Good Luck Trying to Brawl in a Atlas there with all the Cover and low Slung Weapons on it. I even have trouble with LRM Boats on there due to all the Cover and having to make sure i'm up on a hill to somewhat have LoS that leaves me open for Snipers to Pick me off.
