My favorite mech is a SRM18 WVR-7k. My long range is a medium laser. I really don't have any issues with Alpine. It just takes a bit more patience before I can get involved.

If I am dropping on Assault, then I vote for River City. I don't like WWI trench warfare.

For Skirmish/Conquest, I vote Terra Therma.

Can't choose between Alpine and Caustic because they're both just so bad.

Terra Therma. It's a beautiful map and I don't mind how hot it is, but it's otherwise very un-fun to play.

Frozen city, the terrible visibility forces you to use thermal vision, which = framerate drop for me.

Forest, i hate forest with a passion. I think it's impossible for me to do well on that map because of my feelings toward the map as i play it. It should at least have been twice as large if not also longer. It's also the only map i assume defensive position often which i hate to do but am forced into because you can't trust the people behind you and when you screw up on that map you're dead instantly. Also the fact that i can't see **** on that map does not help.

Its all really dependent on my build, but by my numbers and stats, Id say Forest Colony

River city night. It's the problems of River City day (being small, which I actually don't mind) with all the visibility removed, but only for certain people.

I don't have anything agaisnt night fight maps, but our provided optics aren't good enough to be competitive with simply raising gamma as high as it goes, getting the biggest monitor you can and not turning on night vision. Those with huge monitors who crank their gamma can snipe people in the dark at ranges that NV explicitly disallows sight from.

Going to have to change my choice to River City. The dock spawn is really getting to me when the opposing team rushes it and clears out 4/12 of that teams mechs with little eff

Also, I have noticed getting shot from farther out than I can see with any optic setting.

Frozen City, any day. The framerate drop makes it practically unplayable for me already. Add in screen shake and... yeah.

Forest colony. One team gets very good defensive positions and choke points, while the other is left pretty much with 2 choices. go into the water and get torn up, or hope the enemy advances to where they have defensive positions.
The cave entrance is a death trap, they closed in and cant all fire at once, and all LRMs are useless.
Overall just a very lopsided map.

Thanks for all the fish, er... votes! Keep them coming, the sample size is growing and the trends are getting more obvious.

The biggest issue right now seems to be the small/outdated maps, low framerate on maps that encourage thermal/night vision, a rather dire despise of Terra Therma. Out of these three, which might be a good issue to solve first for PGI? Or would you rather have them focus on new maps instead of fixing the old ones?

I really wouldn't want to remove any, if only to keep from getting bored. But at the moment I would like to remove frozen city (day version only).

Even after trying the fixes for it heat vision mode there always seems to halve my framerate at best, and at worst causes bad lag during firefights.

Oddly I don't seem to recall that same framerate loss using heat vision on other maps, not sure why it causes such problems there.
