I bring you troubling news about the future of one of our beloved clan mechs. The Adder. If we don't do something soon we could lose this little critter on the battlefield. When was the last time you saw one of these rare beauties in its natural habitat? But there is something that can be done. The adder suffers from a number of problems that almost makes it obsolete. It has no jump jets or ecm as the kit fox does nor does it have better speed. The 5% additional structure quirk to the legs is less than 1 point(.8 to be exact)!!! That seems to me like, why even put that on there? I hope that PGI reads this and does something to save the adder before it slips away into obscurity. There still is time to save the Adder, give him jump jets or more extra leg structure or something... some reason to pilot one other than the way they look.

Clan quirks are coming shortly after the IS quirk pass. I'm sure the Adder will get some lovin'.

The last time I saw one? Hmm...I guess was when I worked on leveling some of mine during the weekend...

The Adder is (weirdly sadly) the first mech I mastered across all clan chassis, but after some playing I do prefer the Kit Fox. The "low arms" of the Kit Fox aren't so much of a hindrance and ECM + JJ make it a more interesting platform. I'm not sure how to improve the Adder other than, say, adding ECM or nice heat quirks. The fixed flamer is a bit of a problem and giving it a CT E slot would be nice (against the intent to fix more clan appendages rather than freeing them up) but I doubt it will be enough. Well, ECM would be a reason to start playing it... the only good virtue it has now is that it is often ignored and getting good scores is possible. But once a dedicated enemy decides to take you out you cannot run, cannot hide, cannot build a rudimentary lathe...

Adder not yet released for C-bills (if I'm right), thus people are working on other mechs (like the relatively new C-bill release of the Direwolf).
If it is released for C-bills, I need to get me one!
