I like it. Better ELO matching due to ~3 times as many players in the pot to draw from and/or faster game creation is worth more then insisting on the mode imo.

Also hoping for more and MORE game modes to come down the line where the split of currently searching... players between m04r pots would be even worse.

Some assaults might want to avoid conquest in fear of beeing left at "the tail" of the team which might be a problem for those players though. Good that i rarely play Assaults :þ.

God forbid stacked teams of Heavy & Assaults might have to complete in a Conquest match where they can't win by pure firepower alone

Yes it's great that we'll get faster matches but potentially dropping players into a mode they don't like to play? Reckon we'll see more disconnects.

Hi,
I just wanted to say that I am old enough to decide what match mode i wanna play ... and sorry to say that but Assault and Skirmish is both a "bad" mode cause of the pure firepower builds with no strategic background.
If you keep this it might be that i will loose the fun in this game.
Rethink this Gamemode dictature.

I agree with this guy. It took forever to finally get the skirmish game mode into the game so I didn't have to deal with the people playing mechracer. Now I'm back to being forced to deal with them again. Bad times.

Sorry if am forced to play a game mode I did not want WHY would I WANT to play.
Please let the Shoot-em up players play skirmish and leave more interesting modes with options to others that prefer them.

Interesting as this is the complete opposite of my experience.

The empirical evidence based upon my (admittedly small) sample of 6 matches is:

Game Mode - 6 matches and didn't get the one I didn't want
Match Finds - still painfully slow (no appreciable difference from pre-patch)
ELO - 5 out of 6 matches complete facerolls (worse than prepatch)

Also agree with other posters here - I'm an adult so should be able to choose the type of game I want to play.

It is not like we had to wait for hours for matches before. Now I am sitting in a 5+min cue, still. But will land in Conquest. Hating every second of it.

I also hate it. I detest Conquest mode because most people are ignorant on that mode and now I get stuck playing it. Get a little map and what do they do - they scatter to the four winds trying to caps instead of forming a murder ball and fighting.

I have gone in about 15 times with light/medium mechs so far, but my experience has been great.

Worst decision yet, just another bait and switch routine. When you introduced the preferences it was well liked because it allowed the lower ELO players a chance. That has changed drastically and lights are even more OP. If your going to balance this then use ECM matching as well. Team drops with no ECM they are dead with no chance.

I have yet to try it, but I will say based off reading this I'm not going to like it. I only play one game mode because I only enjoy playing one of the game modes. If I'm forced to play a game mode that I don't enjoy, doesn't that contradict the entire point of playing? I'd rather have a poorly matched team than play something I don't like.
Basketball and Football offered far more competitive offerings in sports, but I still chose to play lacrosse because that's the game I chose to play....

I don't understand how this works. If I'm playing solo, why should my matches even be affected by this (they are, but I don't understand why)? I'm not in a group, so no one can have any other choices selected except me. That means my choice should be the only thing influencing the matchmaker, so I should still be getting my skirmish matches.

Why. Am. I. Not. Getting. My. Skirmish. Matches?!

The ability to choose what kind of matches I play is the best feature of this game. Why on Earth (or off it) would you think it would be a good idea to screw with that?

Hate to say it, but it's totally ruined my fun of that game. I played that game from January 2012, so i have lot exp to choose what game mode i like and i stoped on assault. You already made some broken hit to that mode once when turrets was added ( that totally spoil any attmempts to callback at endgame when you drive lights and spoil lights exp in general) but ok, i still find that game mode preferrable for me. But now, i played 5 games in row and no one from that games was assault mode. Thats not appropriate for me, thanks for great game, but i am off till you are not revert that change....

oh yeah. great change. now 3x oxide + 3x stormcrow + 3x timber will **** your game by selecting conquest and any mixed group will just get stomped.

worst change since rule of 3

Afaik, Ego has stated that Disconnecting/Suiciding (ad Nauseam) just because you don't like the match or game type is a bannable offense.
