Alright...this is easily going to get me to stop playing.
When I set modes I want to play it is for two reasons. First reason....
I HATE SKIRMISH!
Second reason, I like conquest and assault.
It is that simple. Forcing people into modes they HATE will only result in tactics such as quitting the match, suiciding in some manner, simply not playing the game.
If you get the mode you hate too many times in a row, and suicide/quit equals not playing....well, you see where that leads. I and others have other games to play after all.

I've never had such a dramatic and kinda immature reaction to getting the game modes I don't like. For better matches it seems like a small price to pay.

Very likely my only reply.
If I want to play shadow of mordor, I click the icon and I play it, my computer does not tell me, Oh, you can play minecraft because shadow of mordor is simply a preference.
But hey, Lets be fair, put maps and mech to preference too...Oh, you want to play your shadowhawk...Oh, that is just a preference, you get to play the trial firestarter.
Oh, you prefer a big mac...well, everybody voted you get a happy meal.
And as to the one poster, How exactly is it a better match? Would you agree that playing a mech you hate is a small price to pay for a balanced match...I rather doubt it.
As to the mode I personally hate, Skirmish blows, least skill, least tactics...not to mention that one light mech that runs away at the end forcing you to wait out the time.

If you want to choose map and mode, there's private matches.

Would you rather:
A. Get the game mode you want just to either stomp or be stomped by the other team 12-0
OR
B. Get a game mode you don't particularly like but the match is much more even "ELO" wise and have a greater chance of having a good match that just isn't some boring stomp.

Discussing griefing actions, like intentional disconnect will do nothing to prevent them. All it does achieve, is promoting such an action.
As this is not something we should strive for, I'll close the thread.
