Just a thread for Masakari owners and lovers to share experience and builds.

So far, I hadn't been able to come up with a very satisfactory build for my Masakaris with my best performance in the area of 4 to 5 kills at 600+ damage with a 3 SRM6 + 2 LBX20 splatter build. I am just not doing the kind of 800+ or 1000+ damage other people are doing. How are your Masakaris doing? Please share.

Feel free to pimp your Masakari pics too! :)

4 cermlas, 3alrm15, TAG, AMMO. Getting from 400 to as high as 1600 damage. Chuck in missles. Clean up. Rinse. Repeat.

I haven't really run any of them yet. Probably won't until I'm sure the nerf gun is out of ammo.

What kind of nerfs are in place now? and yes, I do feel underpowered in my Masakari for some wierd reason. Wanna put a finger to it.

First time I got 1300 dmg was with the Warhawk Prime. Quad PPCs. Amazing how many people underestimate that build. Kind of like playing the AWS-8Q on steroids.

My most effective build by far is the dual Gauss with either Mlas, SSRM or LRM as backup weapon.

I also heartily recommend 3xLPL, 4xSRM4 and 1Mlas as a fun brawler build.

I don't care what the nerfs are or end up being. I just don't want to wast the c-bills required to rebuild the mechs to suit them.

Recently changed 2 of my masakari s to brawler type builds and been having alot of fun with them.

My prime variant is unchanged for a while, mid range support. 2 PPCs, 2 large pulse full armor as many heatsinks as possible.

My brawlers
Ppc gauss in one arm, 3 med lasers in the other, 3 srm 6 or 4s or some combination cant remember.

1 ac20, 2 large pulse, 2 srm 6. This variant runs out of ammo pretty quick but does well.

I run one with 2ErLL, 1 LBX20 and 3 ASRM6
I run another with 3 LRM15, 4ErMlas, and 1 LBX 10
The last one has a UAC20 and 2 Er PPCs

All of them do well for me.

Looks like you're attempting to brawl in it. From my experience, that just doesn't work. Stick to longer range weapons and be mobile heavy fire support. That said, I also have trouble building the mech.

2xER PPC + Gauss + TC
5xER LL + TC
4xER PPC
2xER LL + 2xER ML + UAC5 + 2xLRM15
LPL + 4xER ML + 2xLRM15 + LRM20 + NARC + Active Probe
LPL + 4xER ML + 3xLRM15 + LRM20 + Active Probe

Those are some of the weapon loads I've had some success with. Next on my list to try is 3xLPL + Guass

My favorites so far are 2xCUAC10s with either 8xMLs (fired in groups of 4) or 2xCUAC5s (fired at the same time as the 10s). But I call anything over 600 a good game.

Yes I do have difficulties because its a relatively fast assault and should not be simply doing standoffs that other slower assaults like the direwhale should. You think? Thats why I have been brawling in it alot and having limited success with the prime.

I suspect that gun has an unlimited ammo hack. TBD

Over 600 is still rare for me... I am usually more in the 500ish... something is wrong...

You're thinking of the Dire Wolf, might be getting the IS names mixed up. Dire Wolf is sometimes called Daishi. The Warhawk is sometimes called Masakari.

WHK-B

Best one ive found (using the A side torso for +10% rate of fire with missiles). I haven't found a good way to use Warhawks other than LRM / Laser hybrids, but they do do that very well (i do SUCK with SRMs though, so YMMV). Just groupfire the missiles, it can handle the heat.

Probably so, but I don't think there will be much more in the way of drastic weapon changes. God only knows what the eventual quirk pass will turn up. With the exception of my D-DC all my favorites are low tier mechs. I see much rebuilding in the future.

Its hitboxes seem to hinder its success in a brawl. Also, as a general rule, brawling without your team also being dedicated to brawling is painful. Thats why stand offs are so popular in the solo queue. If you have your team backing you up the best brawling build I've seen is something along these lines 2xER LL + UAC20 + 3xSRM6.

I still recommend using a long range build. You're not going to be able to face down a Dire Wolf since it will be taking similar weapons and more of them, but you should be able to out maneuver it and match up against the rest of the enemy team pretty well.

You think brawling with ER LL is a good idea? How much damage do you splash onto your friendly's i wonder?

ER LL are no good for brawl, burn time is too long and you hit everyone except what you want it seems.

My prime

2x ER PPC
2x Lrg Pulse Laser
1x TC IV (or the biggest one, + 15.82% projectile speed on PPC's and totally worth it)
and the rest heat sinks....

This build is a little hot on certain maps but i have had no problem breaking 600 DMG with it numerous times. Yet to get 1000 in it but im still trying!

It might be an energy weapon, which would explain many things...
