guess you shoulda voted for the better matches as opposed to choosing your game type. when the vote system was in, i was getting awesome matches. and since i vote all modes anyway, i could care less which mode i ended up with.

however, since it has been removed ( :( ), we are back to matches based on player mode choice and "fill in" players w/ much higher ELOs (i.e. 3500 ELO in a 750 ELO game). Yes it took away the hard game mode choice. but id sooner have good games ( most lasted more than 12min w/ very close outcomes) then to have choice of game mode.

then again, i probably have a high ELO (as i play all the time) and was getting in matches w/ players of my experience level.

It sounds like Its simply a lack expertise you've experienced

..... but thats just my opinion....

Might I suggest that the logical conclusion here, is that ELO has nothing to do with stomps?

Try all of the totally unbalanced spawn points on several of the maps

What some are trying to say, just far to politely and indirectly, is that ELO and Matachmaker are not all that may be at fault. You may just not be good... at all. So there is no one low enough for you to be paired with.
How do you figure that? Regardless of how bad a player is, if the matchmaker were working correctly, they would still have an even/competitive match; that is the whole premise of ELO.

at some point some where someone has to have THE ABSOLUTE LOWEST Elo possible. We may have found that person

I noticed a couple of interesting things during this three day challenge:

1-Conquest still needs work. Cap times, team goals, certain maps need work or exclusion. Queue times were not too bad. Less stomps. 15 matches to complete challenge with 8 wins, 7 losses.

2-Assault LRM turrets still rule smaller maps. Queue time OK. Decent matches with few stomps. 10 matches to complete challenge with 6 wins, 4 losses.

3-Skirmish still my favorite mode. Queue times longer. Too many 12 man vs mixed teams. Many stomps. 10 matches to complete challenge with 4 wins, 6 losses

So, if I choose to go with my preferred game mode, I face more 12 man team, longer queue times and a greater chance of getting stomped.

Sorry to disappoint you but Russ already stated that the voting systtem did not affect the solo queue, it was only beneficial for the group queue in the end.

Not sure about the timing with the OP's post but yours.....

You can thank the guys that whined loud enough to get PGI to reverse the "map vote" feature that was put in recently.

It truly benefitted the Solo queue....you may or may not have noticed it, but there were far less new players in the mid-range queue.

The group queue, however, had different opinions about it. I even got an email from my old unit asking me to vote to have it repealed. I get it...it's hard to fight a specific league battle if you end up with a different game mode than was agreed on.

But so many more people in the solo queue were effected by the decision...it really shows where PGI's interests lie.

Their interests would lie with the group que. That is going to be most of the people playing CW as house/merc units. Their loyalty is in the right place. Solo que is not going to be main-game content. It's what you do when there are no CW matches, or your group is offline. This game was never portrayed as a play-by-yourself solo deathmatch.

Edit: I have a feeling this will all be a moot point when CW actually releases. You will know where you will be dropping, mostly who you will be fighting against, will be able to select mechs after knowing this info, ect. Unless all you plan to do is solo drops, but then why bother playing in the first place.
