Not saying that they think the poll was hidden from them, but this kind of significant change should have been plastered all over the front page, NOT just some town hall meeting notification.

It should have been "in your face" right in the way so you could NOT get around giving the issue some attention.

Now since some friends are busy with real life, kids, jobs (etc etc etc), they have just decided to move on and maybe never come back.. Some say "UNLESS" they fix it, some have moved on completely.

There was already an option to choose "ALL" gamemodes, this wasn't needed in the least, and it takes away from further development issues with MWO.

Finally, every single person I talked to across 5 TeamSpeak serves said they PGI are out of their friggin cotton picking minds if they think i'm (meaning they) are going to PAY for a private match just to guarantee what game mode I (meaning they) want to play.

At first I DIDN'T think was going to be such a big deal, BUT then I talked a large group of "friends", and it is more then obvious this was a pretty poor decision to make.

If it means losing paying customers and ME losing teammates or large numbers of friends AGAIN, then regardless of what the intentions were the change is affecting MWO in a way that I do not agree with.

The Change in mode selection was poorly conceived, should be removed, and some other form of match-making should be investigated..

Personally I do not feel the match-maker was doing a completely terrible job, only during the Path to Victory Challenge, there were so many awful pilots ATTEMPTING to participate that is was pathetic.. MWO will NEVER have that kind of traffic on a regular basis if they use the current Game Mode change, they will never KEEP that kind of population with amount of servers they currently have now, and they won't keep all European, Australian, etc etc etc players if they don't add additional regional servers.

Coming a bit late this is. If you read the last pages of the poll it's quite clear that the feature will be reverted again. Possibly sooner rather than later. Russ himself stated that without at the VERY least a 70% majority in favor of the new Game Mode Vote he would not keep it in game. After roughly 3000 votes there's an almost even split between yes and no. I think it is obvious that 70% aren't going to be reached by any side.

I heard about the original (and the current) from a few different places. Might not have been plastered everywhere but it was fairly well known to many.

Well anyone with even half a functioning eye would... Seeing as it has been posted on pretty much EVERY type of social media there is... including these very forums...

My guess is most people do not give a flying surat.

I think it is to bad... This would have been a good solution for the current MM situation.. But hey... con´t come to me and complain the next time you get rolled or have to wait five minutes to get a match... I´l just point out that you had your shot at something better,

Well considering MANY players did not know of said poll, coupled with the amount of people that do not bother to read or even come in to the forums, then maybe a Player Base Wide E-mail should have been sent out for such an issue.

I saw nothing on the TYPES of social media I have used in the last couple days, my bet is that the people I talked to didn't either.

I would rather have more evenly matched games than play the game mode I want, so I voted to keep the new system.

It seems that those complaining about the system are being heard more than those who like the system. Also, forums are not a conducive place to gauge input, as those who are unhappy will post far more often than those who are happy.

I must say that I don't like the reflexive action of late from PGI: a vocal minority screams and yells, and PGI changes something. While I like the idea of getting user feedback, my experience as a software developer has convinced me that one can never satisfy every user. If PGI wants to change something they think will help the game, they should do it for their own reasons, not because a "majority" of forum posters (who are likely a small minority of the actual player base) want it (or don't want it).

No... Wrong... I would have seen the E-mail as it is the first thing I check, so do the majority of people that aren't mindless teenagers or small children. They are called Adults I think

Attention all,

By Presidential order, I am closing the poll. While there is a slight majority in favour of keeping the changes as is: Our hope was for a clear or resounding majority in order to keep these changes. As that is not the case, we are looking to reverse the Game Mode changes later today in a hot-fix and restoring the hard selections.

We hope to re-approach these concerns from different angles, and to see which approach offers the greatest utilitarian benefit to the Community. In the meantime, we invite you to continue this discussion in one of the several General Discussion threads which have emerged since yesterday.

The Hot-Fix is currently scheduled for 4PM PDT / 7PM EDT / 11PM UTC

Why is PGI so confident that this poll actually represents the player majority's will. Any player poll in the past that indicated any position contrary to anything PGI was going to or had implemented was summarily characterized as not really representative of the player community's will.

So it is my anecdotal evidence against your borderline phobic distaste for social media... Also i just checked... Russ has afaik never posted any toenail clippings or foodie shots...

I think you fail to grasp what makes up an adult these days... Buthere is ahint... they are on all those social media sites... wether you like it or not.
