Okay I played throughout closed beta.. then when it went to open I played for a while.. then real life came a calling and wow gone for almost a year!
What happened to the increased cbills for a win? It seems 25,000 win or lose... what's my incentive to win now if not increased cbills? I get the same whether I win or lose..
Why can't I hide behind buildings anymore to not be hit by LRMs.... unless the building or hill is 500 stories tall I always get hit! They appear to go higher and drop straight down now.. maybe it's just my memory being wrong...
I have been hit by LRMs under 180 meters while facing the guy who shot me if they fire at 180 and I close the gap before they reach me d they still do damage?
Why the heck does everyone just turn their mechs into a giant blob and face each other like ******** civil war armies and duke it out... what happened to flanking?
Why does the ready button say ready and is a shade of green instead of saying not ready and is red.. and then should turn green when you press it and say ready?
Why does the training video for Mechlab still show old UI... it's pretty useless.. needs updated (okay just nitpicking on the last two)
This game is still fun for me though.. even with premium it's pretty grindy.. not minding that
Oh and why the hell does the upgrade to double heatsinks cost 1.5 mil?

First, based on your handle and the time you said you were gone I am going to assume that you are military and were deployed. If this is the case, thank you for your service and welcome home. If not, still, welcome back to the game after your hiatus.
C-bill payout is dependent on win and loss, and specific actions in the match -- assists, kills, spotting bonus, etc will all affect end of match pay.
LRM's can be augmented to track better around cover/obstacles like hills or buildings with artemis, TAG, and NARC -- the new UAV consumable can also act like a spotter, and if you are hit by a NARC you are still able to be targeted even if you go outside of a spotter's line of sight.
Clan LRM's (which can be identified by the blue rocket flames) can still do damage within 180 meters, though the damage is scaled based on distance -- the closer you are, the less damage they will do -- but they still do damage.
Lack of communication in public queue makes it difficult to coordinate effective flanking manuevers.
I never noticed the button color issue you have, and yes, the mechlab tutorial should be upgraded if they have not done so yet.
The upgrade to double heat sinks is a money sink to get you to either play more, or pay money to buy c-bill packages to quicken the time needed to obtain them.

C-Bill earnings got a big nerf last year.

LRM paths have gone through several evolutions. They were useless for a whole year until being restored in April via heightened speed.

The game is now 12v12, which combined with small maps, means flanking in small groups is just too risky.

Thanks for the answers and yes I was military had my time during Desert Storm.... Now I fight baddies from my computer, lol
