You see this? This is the world's smallest violin, playing just for the poor Dire Wolf pilots who want to boat medium lasers without bringing enough heat sinks to keep firing if they lose half their torso.

Exactly. I was coming into this thread expecting to read about those mechs. Not the frickin Titan Battleship of MWO, of which you see at least 3 on both teams in every match. Sometimes 4.

I'm not sure if you agree with me or want to cut my ear off and burn me alive.

At least you have a choice to take a different engine.

It works both ways dude.

STD engine on DWF would be superior right now, I would take that in an instant.

this is a good point. Considering the nature of repairs and the costs involved, not to mention an engine swap cannot be done in the field there needs to be more costs and other penalties involved in swapping engines in IS mechs

Want a bigger engine? Pay engine cost and the cost of the retro fit. base it on mech tonnage and maybe structure type
want an XL engine? Pay the engine price and a premium (XL being a advance and bulky design) price for the retrofit in addition to the tonnage other penalties.

point, swapping engines in a mech is not easy. not even in a production facility.
I would say add a time penalty for swaps like that but ppl would cry endlessly and no way could PGI ever implement that type of mechanic.

Pilots wouldn't be able to drop back into combat 1 minute after finishing one either. But, it is a game for enjoyment.

IS has more freedom, Clan have better equipment. It is a trade off. Want to run a standard engine? Go IS. Want to live if you lose a side torso with an XL, go Clan.

Point of fact, I'm wishing they would roll back every Clan nerf to date and give us TableTop Clanners that I can be afraid of. And then give the vat babies a challenge for CW by nerfing the numbers of mechs they can drop with.

I know that's highly unlikely, and probably impossible to properly balance, but hey, it's wishful thinking time over here.

Not so much for the Table Top Rules but because it is what everyone familiar with the genre would expect.

This is a no-brainer.

Nice joke thread OP. But in all seriousness, until tests show IS vs clanmatches at a 50 percent win rate then clans need nothing but nerfs at this stage.

Clan should be able to up size or downsize the clan XL we do not want your IS crap engine!
We'll take your obvious advantaged autocannons though!

You want to nerf MPLs past 150% heat, with 75% range?

Why would you want that.

Ok, so if Clan mechs are weaker than IS mechs, just switch to IS mechs like everyone else right?

Would have been nice if they had not released them normal then Nerfed then later. They should have released nerfed. When they said The Clan Mechs would Have a different Flavor they meant something that was brown steaming with a Nougaty Center. Now they seem crappy.

You clanners could... you know...

Put 20% more heatsinks in your mechs? You already get 33% more room for them.

I wonder if they had this much crying about this and that with the MW2 and MW3 games

Answer NO because we had it on disc , we could modem to modem play and if we did not like a patch we just did not download it.

Mechs were not nerf hammered after release !!! The only game I remember this happening in was starcraft with the zerg.
But you did not have to play on Battle net you could modem to modem.
