Hi guys,

I am waiting next house sale to get the mechs that I want to master.

In the process, I stocked up 20 mil C-Bills but while now Direwolf is released for C-Bill my finger is itching.

It would be my first clan mech so I am little bit undecided, does anybody has an idea about house sale schedule? If it would be more than one week I think I will fall to dark side and by a Direwolf.

If nothing happens this weekend then you can just buy your Dakkawolf.

If you're planning to participate in the upcoming Community Warfare, you should stick to the 'mechs of the side you'll be playing (Clan or Inner Sphere). If you're going to play for the Clan side, you'll need much more than 20 million cbills.

I'm probably never getting the Dire Wolf for C-bills. If you try to calculate just how many hours of grinding is required to buy all three variants required for mastering the chassis, it's too damned depressing.

The thing is if there would be no house sale in the near future, it would be hard for me to buy the mechs I want, to know for Raven, Atlas, Awesome, Jägermechs that I could paid %30 less and get them, would bite me forever.

Instead, I could buy DW enjoy it, until next sale comes, I collected 20 mil in 3 weeks casual playing so it was not so bad.

Wait a bit more. i bet half that 20m is due to you opting in the tourney, not on casual play.

Id buy a different mech to the Direwolf. My money would go to a Stormcrow or a Timberwolf. Stormcrow is my favourite Mech apart from the Mad Dog, which wont be out until December. But if you really want it, go for it.

Also, have a look at the Mastery Packs in the in-game store. They aren't bad value and I believe that they are on sale ATM.

Yeah getting 3x DWF including an (I) version for 30$ more was very tempting upgrade for me...

I'm assuming you're not going for a twolf so...

With the upcoming JJ changes, you might want to hold off until the 21st if you can. The Summoner might make a strong comeback. I believe the Cbill price for the summoner is affordable so it won't break the bank to get 3. You can run it like a missible boat, srm boat, it can run 4 energy hardpoints and a gauss. When they fix the JJ's I'm hoping this thing is viable again.

With the PRIME, there are 10% cd reduction quirks built into the ballistic/energy/missile hardpoint. You only get 3, but you can run a ppc, uac10, and lrm15 or lrm10, and if you add additional CD modules, then it's noticeably fast firing. It's a decent mech to run around in but it doesn't outclass anything.

I also like the stormcrow. I would avoid the direwolf if that's your only clan mech because its really slow, and it can be frustrating to solo in it because its easy to get left behind. You're moving along and stop for a moment to shoot something, buy the time you turn around your team is 3 grids away.

Actually I think we are pretty much good to go. They have already said that all we need to worry about for a while at least is IS mechs for IS and Clan mechs for Clans. No more specific restrictions will be made on your drop deck, and they are only considering it for special campaigns anyway.

The big confirmation has been 4 mech, 140-240 tonnage drop decks rather than 1/1/1/1. Now that we have this information we can start putting some decks together confident that they will be usable come CW. Of course anything could change at any moment, but assuming it doesn't we now have a good idea of what we need to sort out.

For me this means two important things. Firstly, I did not have to spend 41 million cbills on the single Dire Wolf I mastered as I doubt I will ever use it in CW. It is a beast, but I could have saved that money for a Storm Crow after all (maybe only 30 million for a single mastered variant!) Secondly, I no longer have to buy a Storm Crow.

I'm actually waiting to see what the Quirks are for the IS 'mechs before buying any to fill up my drop deck. Other than that, you are correct.

To say the truth I can see what are you finding so special in Stormcrow.

I am a medium fan also, specially Hunchback 4P, it is so easy to drop 700-800 damage games with it, which is a quite feast in current meta.

But I don't see any niche like that (9 medium lasers and so) for Stormcrow.

Can you give me some tips how to use that Clan Medium and show some builds?

Basically, if you can imagine it, the StormCrow can pretty much do it.
I prefer the alt-C personally. I wait until the battle begins, find a distracted Heavy or Assault Mech, and then drive it like you would an IS Light Mech, hit and fade. When you hit, you hit hard, get a salvo or two into your target and fade away and come at them again from a different angle, or hit the next victim.

StormCrow Prime
Tweak armour, done.
Can remove 1 heatsink and add Targeting Computer if you wish.

StormCrow alt-C
Can remove the laser from the head if you want and add a heatsink or a Targeting Computer if you want it to run a little cooler

Sorry, last config was borked.

The alt-C I'm running. runs hot, but lots of fun :)

BTW, once elited it runs MUCH cooler and the handling improves dramatically. Its like a whole new Mech.

I gave in to the dark side and bought the Direwolf.

2xGauss 2xePPC rapes people, I guess I will also try 2xGauss 4x erLL also but are the Zombie builds works with Direwolf.

I have a feeling torso twisting is not particularly working good with Direwolf.
