+1 on this. Keyboard is for typing and some secondary functions that don't fit on Nostromo and mouse (for example all 3 chats are mapped on the keyboard, as I'm going to use main keyboard for typing anyway).
I think that Nostromo is better than G13 for right-handed people, because it' asymmetric and suited for left hand (it's really very ergonomic). I'd like to have one more (top) row of keys on it though, as there're not enough keys for some complex games. Razer recently released a successor to Nostromo, Razer OrbWeaver, with one more row of keys. But unfortunately they removed the index finger wheel in the lowest row, which on Nostromo alone stands for three keys (wheel up/down/press).

But they are not mutually exclusive. I use Nostromo 52te for left hand and Gamdias Zeus for right. Though in many cases additional buttons on mice are situated thus so your aim jerks when you press them. It's hard to place many buttons on the mouse so as each of them would still allow you to keep steady aim when pressing them.

Ps I use it for my left hand, and use a Logitech trackball for my right hand. I keep the keyboard in between.

I never used the thumbstick for gaming on either (old hand injury), so no real input on those aside from the Logitech's seems to respond easier / faster, and isn't as difficult to press.
Combined with a gaming mouse (currently using a Naga, but will be replacing it with a Hex), you literally have everything at your fingertips for MWO.

In addition you need ALOT of training if you used a keyboard for 10++ years.
You can compare it with a bicycle .
You learned to use you legs/feet for speed/breaking and your hands for stearing. Now someone invent one where you stear with your feet and use your hands for speed/breaking.
It might be much better ... but the old way is soooo deep in your brain/blood, that you need weeks to handle the new mechanic as well as the old .
You need to force yourselfe to use the G13 instead of the normal keyboard as it is a automated function to use the normal keyboard .
Oh and PLEASE don't train it in normal matches. You hurt your team and your own if you are doing so . Use traininggrounds to learn it.

Much much nicer bit of kit than the old Nostromo I have lying around, as is expected from Logitech.

G13 is actually very comfortable, even more so that the Nostromo I would argue. It is much more 3D than most pictures suggest.

There's other way to use those keypads. For example, I ceased to juse N52te ministick for movement in all games almost right after I purchased it (BTW I think that the shape of ministick is one downside of Nostromo - its hat should be concave, not convex, as even non-slip plastic doesn't help enough to keep your thumb solidly on it). I use some sort of 4-button WASD/arrow layout for movement (keys 04, 07, 08, 09), just like on normal keyboard - I think that movement is too complex process to rely on a single thumb instead of 3 separate fingers to control. So no retraining required at all, I just benefit from great palm support and fixed position of hand in relation to keys when compared to keyboard (also more control options at hand, as thumb has 6 keys to press - though I've already said that I'd like to have one more row of keys above "W" in my "WASD"). In shooters I map some secondary things to ministick - flashlight, night vision, inventory, binoculars etc. In MWO ministick is mapped like: UP - center legs to torso, DOWN - center torso to legs, RIGHT - Battlegrid (I may reconsider though, as I sometimes have it opened accidentally when hit "center legs" too frantically in combat - it's the same consequence of ministick hat having non-optimal shape), LEFT - TeamSpeak PTT. Vision modes in MWO I have on wheel, FLIR down and NV up.

Thumb stick works perfect for movement though does have slight dead spots. The dead spot can be reduced through some 3rd party programs but even if you don't reduce it takes little time to get use to it with little notice of it. Only really noticeable when circling in some fights.
Any other questions just hit me up
*ohh and as others have said,, verrry comfortable. Hand sits on it very nice.
