Download and re-install DirectX files
http://www.microsoft...ails.aspx?id=35

Solved for me. Temporary till the next patch. Not sure about FPS drops.
Each patch screws up my DirectX

Please report if this have fixed for you :)

I just formatted my SSD and reinstalled my OS. Still wildly varies between 15 and 60 fps, but mostly floats between 25 and 30.
It's completely unwarranted given how I can run many other (better looking and higher spec'ed) games no problem.

As I mentioned reinstalling the entire OS (including DirectX) did nothing. The game is just poorly optimized, and there's bugger all us end users can really do about it outside of getting more powerful computers.

The minimum / recommended specs are a lie.

Yup... I get GPU errors when playing MWO due to poor optimization from the Devs, even fatal errors crashing the game. But I can play Battlefield 4 and other much more graphically intense games with ease and better FPS.

MWO needs to be optimized... the Devs need to fix this because running an i7 3770k, 8gb RAM, GTX 660Ti, on a nice 120g SSD, all powered by a 750TX PSU and lots of cooling, shouldn't have issues.

Sarlic, I'm curious to know your system's specs and what graphics settings you play MWO with.

i7 2600K stock speed
8GB DDR3 HyperX from Kingston
2x stock OC GTX 460 from Gigabyte
160 GB SSD from Intel

I play on low / medium settings. It's mix but maintainable.

My GTX 970 and AMD Phenom II x4 955 @ 3.4 Ghz (OC) is getting 9 fps on HPG manifold on very high settings. I know the game was CPU bound but this is rediculous. Performance monitor shows under 50% utilization.

Tried switching to DX11 and medium settings... 25 - 45 fps on testing grounds...

edit: rebooting fixed it

Your card is new, that's expected.
