Anyone know what the Lock Damage Assist bonus is for? I seem to have missed it somewhere in the patch notes (either that or it's been there for a while and I've just not paid attention).

Wild guess.... Somebody behind a hill damaged a enemy by shooting them with LRMs while you held lock on said enemy.

Thought the same except that there's also a Spotting Assist.. so doesn't seem like the same thing.

Also noticed that I'm not seeing NARC assists, but I never used NARCs until this week *shrug*

I just noticed this as well.. What is "lock damage assist". Has to have been from the most recent patch as I have never seen it before.. As has already been mentioned there is already a spot assist whic would cover having a lock on someone getting LRM'd..

Strange...

It's definitely new, as I just noticed it today.

Any clarification yet?

I think I figured out.. It's when you have a lock, as in missiles on board, and you also are spotting. Pretty sure because I just ran a mission where I wasn't using missiles and got lots of spots but no "lock damage assist".

Now that I know that, it maybe older than I thought as I rarely run missile configs.

I would guess the spotting assist is for when you have LOS on an enemy and a friendly Lurm's them, while Lock Damage Assist is when you have an enemy actually targeted and a friendly damages them?

I'm probably wrong...

Hmm interesting because I just started noticing it when I added a Streak 4 to my Stormcrow.
I think you're right, unless someone comes in and says they are getting this assist without having missile locks.
edit - I've also seen another new one: Counter ECM Locked Damage Assist I believe it was, not 100% sure if the locked was in there. I think it was because I was countering ECM and doing damage at the same time with my Streaks.

I'm curious about it too. It looked like it was a spotting bonus type thing, but then a spotting bonus showed up too.

I have had it show when it appeared I was the only one on my team with any indirect fire weaponry.

I've seen it pop up when firing LRMs at a target that somebody else is fighting. There might be more to it, but from what I can tell it's when you supply damage to an ongoing fight using a lock-on weapon.
