Atlas looks very Warhammer 40k. Is that Sanguinius on the right torso?

The Centurion's new missile hardpoints look awful. I hate it.

The Atlas's head also looks too shiny compared to the rest of the mech, so it just looks weird.

Probably Azrael if PGI is following the mythos about death or inmortality also the walknut on the legs and the several knots imagery with a slight reminiscence of Moebious strips seems to point at inmortality as the main idea behind the aspect.

Maybe that Centurion can take "Guardian Angel" ECM?

A new moderate weight ECM brawler to balance out the Clans getting the Hellbringer?

That Monocle, head Energy Hardpoint? Too bad we can't fit a Large Eye-Beam of Death up there. A small Laser would at least be red like an Optic Blast!

On the religious question, surely the 666 on the Firebrand is a reference to the number of the beast in Revelation. Context makes it obvious, it is not a reference to Chinese numerology. Moreover, angels, or seperated substances (in the vein of the long history of Aristotle's followers) are by no means exclusively Abrahamic. The winged shape, of course, closely references Judeo-Christian angelic imagery, and of the lower angelic orders at that. Of course, the feminine depiction of an angel is modern (post-medieval) and rather generic. As to that triangular symbol, it is not a Trinitarian symbol that I am aware of. If it is, it is a poor one, and certainly not representative of the conciliar orthodoxy of the first seven ecumenical councils.

I really like the look of both mechs.

I don't have a problem with it. Christianity and Judaism are still alive and well in the year 3050, across the Inner Sphere. I guess it's not a popular religion in all areas of the galaxy (Capellan Confederation?), but it's certainly not hard to explain it. Indeed, the presence of actual real world religions in Battletech is one of its redeeming features, IMO. I like that they're not all worshipping Zordaxx, the Space God, or some other invented deity.

I personally would love to see more religious motifs on mechs, because it fits the background. Bring on the islamic, hindu, buddhist and... well, maybe not Modern Norse, as it makes no sense at all. I'm sure PGI would be terrified of having islamic motifs on a battlemech. Certainly a huge depiction of Muhammed with a baseball bat and a shotgun would be something to avoid.

Not sure where I said I had a problem with it. Just not really my thing. Appreciate the degree of detail, just hope they broaden out the themes.

Could still be a Cent AH but with the lenses removed from the lasers, with "housings" still there because they didn't want to model a new CT panel.

that would be REALLY lazy. Probably right, too, lol.

Yes I for 1 am ****** pissed about the Hellslinger, and FireBrand with the mechs skin premoting satan. Totaly a breach of the games own TOS, but I guess the dev's are imune to their own rules? It clearly mentions no religion, symbolism, and referances in names, and any form of it. Last time I checked 666 was clearly part of a Demonic religious affiliation to the Devil in all mannor of the word, AND is used in referance to moch Humanity. Ya this is heavy stuff but the game has this stuff in it. Its offencive to some people, not all I'm sure. Ya people who dont agree with my oppinion are probably satanists or demon worshipers of all types. I've seen it over and over. Trolls will be trolls. I have no problem at all with those typse of people, but keep it out of the game I play and pay for.

Not going to go that far, but the general gist, is not too dissimilar. Just suprised by the amount of religious iconography in such a PC world, in any direction.

Nice, level head you have there.

666 in China is considered to be lucky and is often displayed in shop windows and neon signs. So Unless All of China worships devils, you might need to rethink that. (also the sum of all the numbers on a roulette wheel, and Carbon-12 (6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons) are all 666. IT GOES DEEPER. PHYSICS ARE THE DEVIL!)

You are a very poor troll. Please grow up?

Gee I must be a poor dumb blond *****. According to you. You can research this subject for a thousand years and never know the true meaning of the number 666. People worship the dumbest things, and ya religion is something I dont like talking about. However I was simply replying to a comment that reminded me of something I was yelled at about a longtime ago on the forums for. I put something in my Signature box that was religious and the GMs didnt like it and decided to remove it. Even though its a privlage to use this forum, apperently I abused some rule for whatever that means. So now we have mechs that violate the same rule I broke on the forums. I'll just drop it here and now but I just wanted to put in my 2 cents. Its kinda messed up. I can agree with the physics too, I know all about that, and the China luck bullshit.

EDIT:Keeping with the subject as always the Mech looks just like the T-1000 terminator lol. Awesome freakin atlas!!!!

I am also curious will the KGC get the same treatment, or will it have yet another one. Will say the detail level on it and the Hellslinger, in particular is a huge step above most of the skins in game.

Are those images actual real life renderings? Or an artist's conception of what-it-could-look-like with the finished product not being 100% identical?

Dunno. If in game, that is some impressive resolution. But Hellslinger is similarly intricate.

A lot of it probably comes from that shiny metallic look we got with the clans.

Honestly I wish that was an option like camo, that you could apply to any mech for that look.

Atlas monocle.

Gonna miss the bay doors on my Cents though. I think it is the AH in the image though. That is definitely not a normal arm shield, unless all the left arms are getting an update. If so, I would have to guess at the D.

It is also quite possible that the CN9-AH might be getting hardpoint inflation since it's being reintroduced. I don't think PGI's actually told us what the characteristics are.

It would, apparently, obsolete the Wang, however... ... unless the Wang can do something the AH can't, such as speed limitations.

We'll see what PGI's plan is.

pretty much an "islamic depictions" would be counter to the Koran, so yeah, probably not a great idea. Just surprised how much religious imagery they are using, because it can be so potentially contentious/insensitive. And because of how contentious our Community is already, always ready to be butthurt.

I would be kind of sad panda if the AH was 1B,1M,2E. 1B,3M would be much stronger even though it loses the zombie potential

Russ has confirmed that the Atlas is the reward AS7-S. so it would be safe to assume that the Cent is the AH.

Yeah, hoping they messed up on that though. Don't want laser lenses where there are none!

Probably a medium laser in that spot...

that would make me happy. My TT Atlas had one there.
