Hello everyone,

as someone who played a respectable amount of WoT before switching to MWO, I am amazed to think that it is almost a polar shift (at least for me) in favorite classes to play.

if we accept the following analogy between playable classes in both games:
* light - light
* medium - medium
* heavies - heavies
* TDs - assaults

I loved to play mediums/heavies in WoT.....I was at least acceptable if not good in mediums/heavies and I was crap at tds and lights.

and in MWO i love lights and mediums and i'm absolute crap in heavies and assault (i mean i am the atlas that dies to a spider because he ran like a ****** out in the middle of nowhere with sh** for support)...

for mediums my love/skill for this class is similar (because of the acceptable fire power and mobility).

lights in MWO were a complete surprise for me (seeing how fragile they are on paper, compared to my beloved E100 or STI or E75 or even the KV1S or VK3601), but the mobility ...... amazing (i love the jenners/ravens/or even my 3MP laser spider).

the same "surprise" were heavies/assaults....the difference the armor. in WoT the mechanics made it mean smth. in MWO it is just a buffer before you get shredded.....and i am sooooo slow i lose the buffer too fast (vs dire builds) or i have enough speed to move a little but i still get smashed because of my XL engine.....

Don't i can be effective at any of the games if i lay them in tandem.....so lets to some 'Mechin'.

Curious about the opinions of other people that played both games.

first of all: to equal TD's with assaults is the biggest fail of all.
TD's mainly camp and sit hidden waiting for prey. Assault mechs should never do such things. they are meant to break through lines.
you cant compare this. simple.
the Heavies in WoT do different roles. Maus/E-100/IS-7/IS-4 propably what you want to call Assaults. tanks like FV215B are more suited for the MWO-Heavy class.
jaegermech with his ballistic-heavy loadouts are more compareable to TD's while lrm boats can act like artillery in WoT.

Really it depended on the tank in WoT. I loved my US and Russian heavies, but the BatChat was too much fun to run around with. Was working on the US turreted TDs when I stopped playing and liked them. I definitely like the more mobile 'Mechs in MWO. Lights are usually too small for my tastes so I stick with mediums. Assaults make me feel like I am in the KV-5 or similar. I did not like the KV-5. At all.

You are right...assaults should not camp....but I ask you this.......how many times you 2/3 dires are the last ones alive with full hp and ammo because they sat back (did not even get left behind)
had a game just yesterday in a commando where i did more dmg than a full uac5 dire who camped a choke (feels like death star tactics to me).

and btw the t10 british and the t9 french heavy tanks i bought only after i stopped playing (they were 15% off and i had the credits). but all other heavy tanks t9 and upwards i played, and just how i stated.....i favored the heavy brawler tanks over the specialized heavies

thats because people fail at thinking. they can do nothing else but camp.
you can never change them as well.
still that has nothing to do with the mechs/tanks themselves.
the t110E5 is also more mobile so is the 113.
but i dont care at all about WoT. pure **** in my eyes with all that rigged RNG/MM behaviour nonsense.
quite sad that it took me 19k battles to notice how bad it is.
