I just got my first clan mech, the Summoner. The default "camo" is such a joke, one color and 2-3 stripes with the other colors? I'm going to run it all trial green all the time because of that, might do better if they expect it to be trial and get smashed when it's actually a fully mastered mech.

Then to boot the game is always so dark you cant really see the camo on the mech anyway. With both Brightness and Gamma maxed, my mechs are barely little more then darkish black blobs of mech. I can semi make out the camo I put on them.

Honestly, one-shot camos aren't that expensive, and if not changing it perfectly fine (I can still mess with the colours).

The camo on my Heroes and favourite mechs are well worth it imo and look far better than normal variants:

And I'll likely buy some more later.

Best camo is to look like everyone else. Anything but green makes you a target.
In my experience, one of the first things a pilot should do is get a Colour, even a Basic one.

Default green makes you a target.
Basic Colours are free, costing a meager 1.25m C-Bills each, and don't look too bad tbh:

I own them all.
Basic Red is one of the nicer Reds too imo, I don't actually own any other Reds.

I don't buy camos anymore because it makes no sense to have single-use camos. They should have two purchasable tiers of camos. The current low-cost single use camos should become chassis restricted (maybe at a little extra price), then for a bit more money (maybe $10) you can unlock a camo for all of your mechs.

I bet they'd sell a lot more camos anyway.

All of my mechs that need non standard camo patterns to hide hitbox borders already have them, or can't have them at all.
The PC Gamer skin and the preorder bonus camo patterns go a long way towards fixing that particular problem.
Aside from that I don't care about patterns, as long as it makes my color scheme look good.
For those who are interested my color scheme is always a combination of red and black, which specific shades I use depends on how they look on the mech, but the goal is blood red and Chaos black, which is not coincidentally also my Dawn of War color scheme.

my DW's beautiful paint job is going to be replaced by ugly barnacles the whole match.

Since the mech will be covered with barnacles for the majority of the match..

Now if PGI revamp the damage taken graphic on mechs and tone down those ugly barnacles...

All I can think of upon reading this.

In a word, yes.

Since then they've shrunk the Atlas head hit box to be just the left eye, so there's really no reason to not put the glowing eyes back in.

Well, most of that is because the Brightness and Gamma settings don't even work. Seriously, they don't function.

It was more than that. You could easily spot them from across the map through environmental haze.

I buy the one-shot camos for the mechs that I can. I had purchased Fractal for my Atlas when I first started out thinking I would change up camo patterns based on which map I was playing.... yeah..... not so much. When I realized it was the weapons and variants that I would be switching around and not the way they looked, I did the math. 125 x 3 for One-shot camo for 3 standard variants. Vs 1250 for the ability to switch it around with what? Another 1250 mc camo? Yeah right. I'll buy another whole mech for that.

Basically if the damage was more detailed and accurate, it'd be fine. But instead we have a one-size fits all decal that makes your mech look like the surface of the moon if even superficial damage gets registered. I can see if you did 9 rounds with a dakka-wolf and are somehow still standing. But if someone just spilled their mLas in your lap, you shouldn't look that bad off.

You don't care? OK, then you should have nothing to say.
