I lived through it, so the damage at the end isn't accurate as to what happened

Any chance the shot hit the rear? How do you know it was a gauss shot? Did you see the shooter/what were they piloting?

The simplest explanation (read: best) is that you didn't realize there were multiple enemies shooting you and they were lucky enough to hit the same spot, which isn't that weird if they were standing close to one another.

the enemy was a dual gauss, dual PPC Dire Wolf...there was no visual of the PPCs being fired, although I guesss its possible they did fire but weren't rendered on my screen... but no adjacent sections were damaged by the clan ppc slpash either...just RT cored, rest of the mech not scratched

If there really was just one enemy it could have been registering or in a location where it shouldnt. So for example you get shot straight on front CT but rear gets damage too. You got shot front RT but both shots of that double gauss registered back RT where the usual TW have 10-15 armor. So theres still 15 damage passing on to internals. Shouldnt rip the whole torso off. Did you have ammo there?

Double registering damage happens too but all I have ever seen was to different locations, never double in the same spot though.

torso wasn't rippped off, and no damage registered to the rear RT ...just cored section and SRM launcher destroyed, but no ammo destroyed

It is pretty easy to fire 3 Gauss rounds w/i 1/2 second of each other. Its called macroing a 0.5 second delay on your trigger finger, possessing a steady aim and having an opponent who is not torso turning. You will take a 45 pt hit very quickly then.

Do the missile pods on the TBR torsos still count as front torso when hit from other angles, say, the rear?

It really isn't that far fetched that a second enemy that you didn't see (you were facing a DW, after all) shot you and did damage, but that your mech failed to register the impact. Can't say how often, but this definitely happens.

thats why I'm not ruling that out, but our location on the map would have made that unlikely

IDK...I love a good mystery, but, while damage sometimes disappears in this game, it rarely appears from nowhere. That being said, I doubt anyone found a way around the gauss firing cap. Whatever the explanation, I wouldn't worry about it.

Very easy to macro as well and to my knowledge macros arent illegal

Hit the first two; have the macro hit the third .5 sec after the first let up (fire) then (fire) repeat

I dont use them myself (especially not after my razer died) but its not hard and so far as I know not illegal in game
