In MWO - don't know -depends on how the missions are set up and what the mechs are like (with no Aero or vehicles what use is a stock Rifleman?)

The Rifleman is only good vs those in the fluff because of its targeting system, which was never translated into the game unless by some house rules. It has good weapons and can rip another mech to shreds easily, it just has a horrid heat curve and is definately not for beginner pilots.

battle armor, or elementals, don't even qualify as 'mechs' an ultralight is any mech weighing in less than 20 tons but even the few of those making more than chicken scratchings are still pushing 15 tons. Battle Armor is exactly that, a suit for a single person, might weigh one ton fully loaded with the pilot.

But seriously...for me anything 45-80 tons will do for me. Don't like anything lighter and anything heavier's just a big, slow target.

not becuase its the biggest gun boat with the most guns. But i have always had a love of heavy and slow. I love soaking damage up, wading through gunfire that would roast my smaller friends and standing tall through it all. Guns flaring out as locks light up.... or heavy as i love the Awesome

again, I'd point out that an assault/light would just be a medium, or at most a meavy, there's no 'lisault' because it would just be the median weight, the cross categories are more for those mechs that are one bordering the other, like the high end mediums (meavy's) they're not quite big enough to be in the heavy weight class but are still quite a bit bigger than the average medium.

Personally, I plan on playing Scout (Light) and Comander (Heavy). Then eventually try the Assult/Def (Mediums).
I think the different classes you can play will make this a really standout game.
As we as the fact that say a ML on a Jenner will do the same damage as one on an Atlas.
