Bah, thats just too easy!......

Indeed it is. I put in my 600 points in the last Challenge in 10 hours (or a little less) So I could contribute 1,500 points or more myself.

So why doesn't everybody just play on skirmish then?

Many players can't play, without the constant fear of "cap". :excl:

(Or they just don't like my LELO Boats...)

And there will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth. But it is good to see PGI actually promoting the primary objectives of Assault and Conquest by doubling the point values for the upcoming Challenge. But I'm sure there will be plenty of players doing the usual "Capwarrior" QQing. And I shall enjoy the tears.

*queues Skirmish only*

No but seriously, I hate when people play for base caps in both Conquest and Assault. Not because I think it's a stupid way to win (I enjoy proper, lots-of-small-fights-and-map-movements gameplay on Conquest), but because so, oh so many players have no idea what they are doing when they try to cap.

In a way, that's why this Challange is so great. Maybe people will learn.

P.S. Just an FYI for any new players intending on playing Assault. Base turrets share targets with the enemy team and can effectively hold you locked for enemy LRMs. They also have a pretty long sensor range (longer than the sensor range of your mech, unless you have BAP or Advanced Sensor Range), so either go under ECM or focus down the LRM turrets fast.

But a skirmish match is over in 4 minutes, while it takes forever to finish the other two modes.

I've been finishing Assault games in less than 4 minutes now that I've started playing it again. The games where the Atlas Ninja Cap doesn't seem prudent have been running like skirmish anyway.

Time to dust off that old Capture Accelerator module.

No incentive for me. I own the Shadowhawks from my Phoenix Purchase and bought the Stormcrow ala carte. Also have 5 mech bays empty so have zero need to buy any more at the moment.

I do like the fact that the even is community based but the rewards also need to be something everyone can take advantage of like perhaps a half price sale on modules or all mech chassis, something like that.

No link required since all tournaments are visible via the same URL (which has already been posted).

While it is a tourney, it wasn't mentioned as an announcement OR on the main page (let alone the front end).

Besides, the OP's title referred to it as a "challenge", which has a dedicated page and actually has very different implication.
