In 2 out of the 4 matches I played tonight, my group of 4 was dropped with other small groups of 2 or 3, playing against organised 12-mans.
What's going on with that...? It's hardly a recipe for a fair fight.

I would guess its between do you want to play a game today or wait until the search times out.

I have to assume that's correct. Release valves and all that. As a match continues not being made, the mm starts to open up the requirements trying to get matches off the ground.

Small groups and Large groups are in the same queue....i dont think the group size matters just the mech's.
12 mans are always stuck to 3/3/3/3 so you actually (usually) have a tonnage advantage being in 2 or 3 small groups since you still adhere to the rule but both groups can bring 3 Assaults/3 heavies if they wanted for a total of 6. The 12 man will ALWAYS only have 3 Assaults....
If you dont like it then SOLO QUEUE is your only escape at this point. Once CW hits you wont see as many 12 mans during Prime time and CW times slots. They will be invading the IS/ trying to stop us! Mwuahaha!

Yep. The longer you wait, the more likely that the match will be a blowout one way or the other. You have to just hope that you get the good team.

Tonight I played with a player I just met for the first day, with 2 groups of 3 and 1 group of 4.
We fought against a 12 man (tags and everything) and we won at the 14 minute mark.
Your mileage may vary. I took the coms, people worked around me, and we fought intelligently against a team who likely expected to win.
I'd challenge you, if you find yourself in that situation don't complain... elevate your game.

When CGB gets a big group together, the other big teams are always the closer games / more fun. The stomping of a bunch of smaller teams is boring and no one has fun doing it.

All questions regarding the MM should be forwarded to the CW department for further analysis.

I still don't understand why groups of 4 or less can't be mixed in with the solo queue. There's no reason you can't balance it by putting a small group on each side.
My real beef with the current setup is that it penalizes you for playing with a friend. Two people on voice comms really can't win a match by themselves, but are at a SEVERE disadvantage in the group queue against larger organized teams.
TLDR: One organized lance let alone 2 players won't affect game outcome enough to justify forcing them out of the "solo" queue.

Yeah, this is a feature of the new MM release valves. One team that assumes the standard 'Four winds' formation, and the other that rolls as tightly knit Deathball. I just charge them guns blazing. That way the match ends for me pretty fast and I can get laundry done. Why prolong the inevitable...

Also the longer your enemy has been waiting the more likely it is you get pitched against them even if it's a bad match. That 12 man probably had been waiting a while ... and OP's franken group just happened to be the best match availbale for them.
