Will Mg's Count As Ballistic?

For quirk purposes, does anyone know if Machine Guns will count as ballistic weapons?
MG's are kinda an ugly duckling and it would be nice to see them get a little something on particular mechs (JM6-DD I'm looking at you) that are good MG platforms. Still I don't see the likelihood of MG specific buffs.

They're "ballistic weapons" so I don't see any reason why the ballistic quirks wouldn't apply to them.

Mechanically they operate similar to lasers.
There are quirks that actually can't work on them such as cooldown.
There are quirks that actually can't work on them such as cooldown.

Mechanically, that is game-engine wise, they're hit-scan lasers with projectile graphics.
So, cooldown quirks won't work (they have no cooldown, they're continuous-fire), projectile speed quirks won't work (they have no projectiles), just about the only quirks that will work are range and heat ones.

The Cooldown quirks, since they essentially up DPS, could just increase the rate of fire for MGs. But yeah, that's a good point. We'll have to wait and see.

They don't generate any heat at all, so that one's out too.

Anyone else hoping for a Machinegeddon? Quirks bug the MG and turn them into Metal Spewing Death machines?
Im picturing the quirk somehow increasing Machine Gun Damage by a factor of like 10(how this would happen i dont know i dont care im just imagining it) or something by mistake and all we see is everyone running around in lights sawing the limbs off of anyone who doesnt know whats going on and are still walking around in assaults lol

MGs technically have a cooldown time of 0.0 as per Weapons.XML:
