You earn less money after the patch - congrats you are a bad team player and a bad solo player too.
the rolls favor team play - for newbs...stay in formation
or ultra solo players that are hunting for the big game - solo kill -
sounds fair - ok assaults don't get so much bonus - they can't flank, brawling don't earn them money - so yes if you don't deal incredible much damage on a single target & getting the kill shot - you will earn less.
On my own in a PUG and Assault i will earn less - for sure (but i don't have to run an Assault)
Anyhow - this system is hardly 12 hours active - and you are complaining?
thats the issue Karl, those newbies in ehavies and assaults are rather much screwed by not being good enough to racking what is needed for real rewards. Shile the runnign and gunnign newbies in lights get craptons of Cbills by being on same derplevel. only difference: they run a light.

Maybe people don't like the rewards because it involves more maneuvering and tactical play?

PS Either way, like the new system - just need to get used to the carrots and sticks.

Russ is taking volunteers after many complaints about the reward system. I've been one of the more vocal complainers, but I must admit that I'm not planning on playing any more in the near future (burned out/tired) so I would be a very bad candidate for his test.

I will also try to get his attention in this thread for those of you who don't want to tweet.

Feel like I'm earning more since the last patch, but that might be related to switching from mainly playing assaults for a couple months back to lights + mediums, curious to see the actual numbers.

My opinion is the old system needed to be changed, so I hope we see tweaking and dialing in of the new system as opposed to a reversion.

I earned 38k and I used a cool shot. So I netted -2k.

Here in lies the problem for new players. I remember my W/L ratio being .25 for a looooong time. After playing for 6 months or more that average climbed to .8 W/L ratio. Since the stat reset, my overall is 1.10. Since the earnings are so much lower for a loss, a new player is not going to last very long, imho.
Maybe PGI should consider extending the Cadet bonus to 50 or more matches. Or better yet, a gradually decreasing percentage bonus. After the initial 25 matches, apply a 50% bonus to the next 50-100 matches and gradually drop that percentage to normal earnings. I can't see new players sticking it out with the meager earnings.

But if it helps, I can get some games in tonight (EU timezone) and offer my stats for science.
In group play, I had a lot of great victories in the past, while the more casual Pug matches seem to have reduced my W/L and K/D to normal levels and settled close to 1.0 nowadays.
If I get enough games in to be of any use, feel free to use my stats.

So far the new system feels very unfair, but I've played only few games and most of those with suboptimal mechs so I withold judgement for now.
