Being a team player I really love this new reward system!
Just made a bunch of matches and I made a lot of c-bills.

A few tips for those complaining:

1) work as a team

2) stay with your team/lance

3) focus fire

4) dont play at distance

5) HELP your teammates/lancemates

6) don't stay back making "surgical gauss"

7) don't run as suicide nut, ahead all alone

All BASIC team play tips.
So learn them.
Forget being selfish.
Stop complaing.

If an average pilot like me can make a lot of money, think about this: you are playing in the wrong way.

I think you should try to be a little more condescending as it will only help improve your poorly thought out argument.

My thought right now is "don't feed the troll"

the same with patch notes, learning team play, and so on. good things. clear things.

I found this thread and agree and if it is okay add what I wrote for my own thread but am just going to add it here.
All of this below is common sense. But Common on the field of battle it is not.

Patch = Reason to work together

Reason to protect team mates

Reason to spot

Reason to play Conquest

Reason to play a light

Jump Jets in my firestarter ROCK again for move and jump.

I think over all the Cbills are down but that is only a feeling

IMO

Fantastic direction with this patch. Sure it is going to need tweaking both ways but AWESOME direction.

Message to all whiners from PGI: "I am very pleased to tell you that, after a first gathering of data, the reward economy stayed stable. We are currently looking at fluctuations between 5% to 10% compared to what it was before."

Wow.

As Shakespeare would said : "Much whine for nothing"

See this is why I dislike this system. I had nearly identical stats in one of my games, and I ended with only 239k including premium time. The problem is with this system you have to do very specific things in order to make higher rewards even though doing those specific things may not be the best strategic option at the time. Had I played in a way that would have earned me more money I may have cost our team the win by putting myself in a less than favorable position, yet I get accused of not being a "team player" by the OP when I complain about being rewarded a great deal less for helping the team in a different way than this system rewards. I'm all for better rewards for scouting, TAG, NARC, and whatever support related bonuses they want to pass out, but it should not be at the expense of other rolls who are not designed to fulfill those other rolls.

A lot of people before this patch were unhappy with the low payouts so perhaps people are more sensitive to a fluctuation of -/+ 5-10%? That being said, looking at the average income across the board is a piss poor way to determine what feels good for the individual player, or how a new player is going to feel when they don't yet have the needed skill set to earn most of these rewards only to see time and time again really low income. Sure, some people might be making more than they were, but only because their play style happens to align with these arbitrary rules for getting bonuses. It doesn't mean that these people are better team players, nor does it mean that the people getting shafted by this new system are not team players. Acting all high and mighty as you have been from the start isn't going to convince anyone on your stance. This new system is a poorly thought out quagmire of arbitrary income gains and losses that creates way too much inconsistency.

gonna build a stalker lrm boat, stand behind a hill, and earn hella c-bills, and then be praised as "skilled" by the op and other mouthbreathers in this thread. I'll then make a smug post about how everything is fine, how awesome my team play skills are, and post a screen with a big c-bill amount, never pointing out it's inflated by paid bonuses. Anyone who runs counter to my opinions, I'll simply spout some iteration of "l2p," do a little loling, and post more bonus-inflated **********.

I think that about covers it.

Let's put it in this way: I, as average player, am earning more c-bills than before. So I want to state in the forum that I'm happy about it.
I read a lot of whining thread this morning, so, when I started to play I was expecting loooowwww income, but... surprise!... I have more.
How can you explain this? Am I "align with these arbitrary rules for getting bonuses"? Good for me, then.
Define "arbitrary" :)
Are those rules made by who know nothing about the game, or by a bunch of newbies hired by pgi?

Imo, those "arbitrary rules" lead to "team play" and I like it.
That's the way I play since mw2, and I'll always play that way, c-bills or not c-bills.
About those "arbitrary rules for getting bonuses", if PGI would confirm them, then deal with it.

That is good for you, but has not been the case for everyone. I would also like to point out that you would get a lot further with this discussion if you had simply stated that you liked how things have been working and it has been a boost for you instead of being a condescending ***** toward people having a different experience.

There are others ways to be a team player than what are being rewarded here that is why they are arbitrary rules. Telling people they should deal with it, and telling them that their contributions are meaningless is not a good way to go about this.

*cough*

well................................................. lol. If you want to go with 90% of players are terrible, I would be very tempted to lean toward that. Now mind you, everyone will defend their level of 1337 skill, but that is in fact a lot of the issue outside of Comp Teams.... too focused on their individual kills and skills to be bothered with actual teamwork.

Which in a team game? Equals being a pretty terrible player, actually. Way too many Solo Rambos interested in padding their stats costing the team wins.

And the 10% of players who are great and play competitively (if not in actual league or 12-man, then >10 hours/week) aren't the ones who need a reward boost. Cutting the rewards of the 90% of players who aren't terribly good [yet?] by 50% and giving the best 10% of players a 20% reward boost isn't going to encourage the bulk of the playerbase to get better. It's going to discourage them from playing at all.

if the rewards system is designed to encourage teamwork?

It SHOULD.

Sadly, we are talking about gamers here. Instead of taking hints and doing things the "right" way, they tend to just rage quit and play candy crush, instead. c'est la vie.

While your enthusiasm for the new system is great, I really love what they have done also, it just needs a 30% increase across the earnings for all players. They also need to add extra bonus on top of Assault and Conquest mode if you win by a cap point, your team all get a bonus of $75,000-100k. Same bonus should apply if a team defends either of these game objectives, after all they should be primary objectives given the game mode we drop in, and are listed as such. This would fix a major problem with peoples non team play styles two fold.

Point in case,
Just came off a game that our team was playing Assault mode, we all stayed together for the first 3 mins of the match covering the D4 area by the tunnels and stayed in cover of the city. Like most times and games, players get the Blood lust in them and start to move the death ball to find the enemy instead of either using the tactic of staying close enough to the base to protect it or move as a team to take the enemies base. Well the enemy team rushed the pass 4 minutes into the game. They first sent in a storm crow and a light no less, and there whole team - one light went for our base.

My lance mates stayed with the death ball moving up to where Eps would be if it was a conquest match. As soon as myself and another team mate spotted the death ball coming we made it clear to get back to base. I understand once the death ball gets moving, it can be hard to get everyone back in time because of different weight classes and all, but here is how this match played out.....

I was in my unmastered Storm crow I just bought, and I don't have the C-bills yet to get the other two while they are on sale. The other teammate that stay back I believe was in a Medium also, and we held the death ball coming for us off for about 5 minutes after we gave notice to our team to get back to base, rush coming. First the enemy had 4 mechs coming, then it turned into 6, and they had killed our turrets, and parked on the cap. We had a choice, we could of ran off and grouped up so we could get that very small bonus for supporting a heavy/assault mech leaving our base unprotected, or we could try to contest 11 mechs to two and play in the interest of a team in the game mode we dropped try to follow the objectives.

We fought hard, tried to stop the death ball for the team, I lasted around 7 or 8 minutes into the game, dancing around buildings, in and out of cover with my crow, trying put fire on the mechs standing in our base to get them out of it, they already had it down to 50% with in the first 6 minutes of play. It took our other 10 teammates well into 8 and half mins. of game time to get back to even start to try to help defend our base. One of our teammates was off chasing a light over by Theta if there where caps on this map, and did not come back to the base even though we was about to lose it. The other mech and I fought our asses off for the team play you keep speaking of, or the lack of the team play you claim lower earners have now.

I ended up with 0 kills, 7 assist, and around 300 damage before they dropped me at 8 minutes into the match.... I never ran, I and the other teammate who saw the bigger picture of team play which I always try to play that way..... got taken out for our efforts. We bought our team the chance to still get the win by doing what they should of been doing if they was worried about team play also. For all our troubles I can't say what the other pilot got in rewards, but I brought in a low amount of around 78K and only 400 some xp for my troubles. I only died at the end because we was out numbered 11 to 2 because had no choice but to work my way out of building cover to contest the 4 mechs that was in our base. If I am not mistaken if you are in a cap or base with the enemy taking it, the counter stops. How much more of a team player can one be with their style of game play???

And just in case you are wondering, We got the win, at one point at the end of the match, we was up by five mechs as our team finally got back and started to defend the base. Even with all the enemy mechs the other teammate that help stop the base roll and me softening up 7 mechs armor, they took out 7 more of our mechs before it ended because of really bad play on the rest of our team, or because the other team was skilled and good.

I am sure there bad pilots out here, that don't do it right, but there are also many good pilots that do it right and
under the horrid grind we had, and even more so now to a point, they get less than the painfully low rewards that was too low prior to this system..... Ummm that is the core problem with making rewards so scarce and low in this game, it creates blood lust for C-bills, and the reality is turns players into the type of pilots that will exploit any system they put into place to farm c-bills.... at any cost including team play. Ease the lack of C-bill earning and xp/ gxp by 30% and give the extra bonus for base taking and capping on conquest and it solves this bad style of play over the course of a week! Problem solved!

Further more, I would like to know if you consider my feed back as just whining and a player that needs to change my play style to team play "exploiter/c-bill farmer" to fit the new mold of this system that you claim rewards teamplayers? If you consider me as a whiner, and many others who try to team play, even if it cost them those almighty C-bill rewards that everyone is so hungry for because of a serious low pay system to begin with, I see you as a part of the problem and why things are still the same in this game after two years. New players will come if you continue voicing your venom, but they will not stay long, and they sure won't be giving PGI their hard earned cash if this horrid grind is all they have to look forward too.

The "right" way is what again? Take a look at the big reward thread, people rolling face with 800+ dmg, 5+ kills, getting the same or slightly higher as before, while somebody is milking tag/narc and earning 500k/game. So the "right" way is for EVERYONE to be support to make mad bank, and the dps role is a 2nd tier chore? In a TDM arena game? Really?

I think it's great that lights and medium mechs have incentive. I like the game telling me "you're doing these things, that's great!" But it seems the bread and butter play of the game, namely, killing people, had it's reward nerfed. Killing people effectively isn't 100% of the time about being in a big zerg. PGI needs to revert killing and especially assists to their old values.

Lol, just saying "herpa derp, you gotta use teamwork" doesn't magically make c-bill rewards okay. "Teamwork," as it ACTUALLY and PRACTICALLY functions in a tdm game, is zerging in a big blob. If this was bf3, with large maps, defined roles, and more than 12 people playing a side, we could quantify teamwork a little better. But in this game, your "teamwork" ends up being people in chat or in vent calling out the grid coords of the enemy, and everyone pushing that direction. Once in a while some enterprising light mech will spot for lrms (while reporting the postion of the main enemy force). There's your teamwork.

Please stop trying to embellish "team play" like it's some complicated rocket science in this game. People are farming with tag/narc/lrms, and getting a huge payout. Has nothing to do with "teamwork."

In your post you described a really bad match and a bad team, despite the win.
I'm glad for you that you managed to stand up a 11 vs 2 situation.... and doing around 300 dmg.
But the rest of the team? were they on vacation?
You stood close only 1 team mate, so I believe you lost a lot of c-bills, and sadly you died just before the "coming back".
It happens.
I started this thread after 5-6 matches.
Then I replayed after 10 matches, and again confirming that I'm earning, average, more than yesterday.
Bad games happen to me, too, 'cause I'm not that skilled, I'm average.
But I managed to earn around 98.000 in a defeat, doing around 500 dmg and 6-7 assist; quite as yesterday, then.

There is no way, via the internet, to give, even good advice, without being seen as condescending or Trolling.

That is likely caused by everyone on the Internet never needing advice, good or bad, because they already KNOW IT ALL. Sad thing is, those know it all's can't share that vast wisdom as they too would then be seen as either Condescending or Trolling others.

Damned Internet. ;)
