So How Exactly Has This New Reward System Helped Lights?

Lights are being obliterated at every turn (Granted Medium Heavy in the que right now)
So my question is, how exactly did this help lights in "Role Warfare" I am making notably less c-bills playing exactly the same way as I always had in my Jenner, which is that of a striker and harasser.
So what was this suppose to do for my role and rewards?

You'll have to excuse me on this but there is no scouting in this game. Mechs are seen within the first 30 seconds of the match. Hell on some maps you can fire at each other from the starting spawn points. And also Scout and Support does NOT pay the bills.

There are many rewards that are catered specifically towards lights.
- "Scouting" rewards go to the first person that scans opponents. So fast speed, and an extended sensor mech module can essentially have you rake in rewards. (If you run into multiple enemy's, rapid tap the button to mass collect these rewards.)
- Spotting assists are still very profitable.
- NARC, UAV, and TAG assists are now insane. You can farm quite a bit of cash off of these new systems.
- Flanking and hit and run bonus. Read, and try to execute whenever you can. THESE are the bonus' that easily make up for the "proximity" bonus' you'll probably be missing out on piloting lights.
- Proximity bonus'. But that being said, if you DO decide to closely support the group, your still rewarded for it.
- Assists might have had a nerf, but they are still easy money for lights when you can get it. Try to get a flanking score for using it though.
Lights are not rewarded well for damage or kills under the new system. (As they hardly ever do enough damage to warrant the "solo kill" rewards that more heavy designs need to hunt down.) But they have quite a lot of bonus' both unique to them and that they HIGHLY accel at doing when you are attempting to execute on it.
Try to shoot for these things above, and you should do just fine.

This guy gets it. I have a lot of problems with the new system, but lights have it really nice. The new rewards particularly cater to them.

You said you played right?
First light mech that see's and targets enemies gets 2k Cbills per enemy. So if you run over a hill and rapidly press R then vanish, you get paid.
Holding TAG on a target, you get paid for all damage done and if it dies there's a bonus
Putting Narc on a target, get paid 6k Cbills when it dies etc.
Doing damage, you get paid many ways, shoot the back of a mech without being seein, flank 4k. Shoot and enemy and then run off, get paid for hit and run etc etc.
My firestarter with 5 Mls and 1 Tag...made 300k cbills with premium and I only get 1 Kill 8 Assist 600 dmg.
So it's a case of learn to play for money, then again I'm consistently top 3 match scores.

I have a feeling a lot of Light pilots not getting rewards is based off them not being fast and sneaky but instead engaging and staying engaged.
I got a nice reward off an Atlas who I flanked in my Commando by striking him and moving off quickly. It was Crimson Straight so I was able to hit him in the back and duck into some buildings before he could spot me. He would spin, and then when he started moving forward again(Seismic is awesome still) or I would hear him launch and LRM I would pop out, hit him full in the back, and duck into a different bit of building cover. I kept him from firing the majority of the match and eventually had him and a Timberwolf hunting me through the buildings as I would engage and disengage with them. So one 25 ton mech kept 175 tons busy. Now this what I have pretty much always done, but before my reward would be next to nothing... at best a win and 2 assists, maybe a kill or some component damage if I managed to eat a torso. Today I was rewarded again and again for harassing a missile boat and distracting a brawler.

This was my last game with a jenner with 4med laser 1 narc. I had two or so lrm boats . There is no way i would have got this type of score before they reworked the rewards. Im happy about them.

Something to note about the Proximity bonuses. A good survival tactic is to fall back into your own teammates once things get hairy. Doing so in combat means you pretty much rake in Light Protection bonuses.

Even if I do a bit worse in losses than you did before, I do so much better in wins that it more than evens out. I made more than 400k in a game yesterday without premium time active (granted it was a really good game, but still.)
I actually assumed they'd have to tone rewards down, not increase them.

Whoa.... 400k+ without premium time? What build were you running?

In the old reward system the bulk of your earnings were essentially random (did you get 8 savior assists? Hooray!), which was pretty silly.

Thanks! This may give me reason to take out my Shadow Hawk 2K and 2H again. They are my go to mechs for all kinds of good killin'.

I had one really good match early on last night, a couple where I felt I did ok but was barely able to pay back my modules at the end of a win, and a lot of losses last night....including at least a few where I used a module or two and lost money. I am trying to not be overly negative about this until I have a night with better luck maybe- but overall last night I got kicked in the balls pretty hard by the new system.
