We have yet to have an option to choose our faction content. So, PGI, when will we get to choose our content?!?

The below was posted in the FAQ on Oct 22, 2014:

• Q: Will I be able to select which Faction Specific content I want to receive?

I am hoping to get all of the colors. The cockpit items save the horns interest me less than custom designing my big metal BAWKES to my particular interests. And for some reason, I want the Zeus horns to play the theme song to Disney's Hercules....

I'm pausing on whether or not to get the Wrath pack. I really am thinking about buying it but something's stopping me.

I am not sure that the quirks on these mechs will be big enough to offset their mathematical deficiencies compared to their current contemporaries. The only mech I see that fills a niche (of sorts) is the Grasshopper. A jumping 70 ton energy boat almost as fast as a Quickdraw or Dragon is a good thing.

The Enforcer seems like a bigger version of the Vindie or Blackjack which leaves me ambivalent on the chassis.

The Panther seems great till I realize it's slow and the hardpoints are... well... lacking to be nice. A big slow commando with standard armor. I could only hope the hit boxes are as broken as the Firestarter.

The Zeus. Unless it is the size of an Orion, I don't know what makes it different enough to get excited. It's a hair faster than the Victor, no JJ, and hardpoints similar to any BLR but lower.

What makes this potentially worthwhile for me is all the colors and extra goodies... and 3 bonus mechs but I don't want to shell out 80 bucks for 15 mechs which I would end up selling for mech bay space once I mastered them

(If this has all been answered before, sorry. I'm not wading through 23 pages of posts)

So sell me. Any news leaked out on what will make these guys stand out enough to say "TAKE MY MONEY!"

Well, Kjudoon.
At some point we will probably have 10 mechs per tonnage class (e.g. 10x 80ton mechs).
What would be the reason to buy one over the other ?
How would you think if there were 100x 80ton mechs ?

I guess the biggest reason to buy a mech (alone or as a pack) is the style.
If you have all Victors, all Awesomes, and even Battlemasters, Stalkers and Orions, you will have a lot of choices around 75-85 tons and a Zeus will be just another one in your collection.
If you are a Steiner player or a fan of the mech, you might have a much higher value for a Zeus than say a Panther, while a Kurita roleplayer wants that Panther badly, but not that Davion Enforcer.

Nobody knows about possible quirks, but if we expect quirks for stock loadouts (like AC5, LRM15, LLaser for Zeus), you can think about if that makes your choice easier.
But you should not base your choice on quirks or other balancing factors that might change over time (see clan mech/weapon tweaks).

If you are a collector like me with spare money, your choice might also be easier.
Others people don't play enough to grind CBills, or want the mechs ASAP, so they buy packs.

In the end, the choice is yours

Talk about waiting until the last minute. If it's not ready by tomorrow, I assume they're going to make us wait until the next release date for the Grasshopper or maybe even the Zeus.

They way it worked with the Clan Faction stuff was done via the website. Im assuming they will do the same thing.

Had to log in to your account and then go to you Profile. There is a tab there that says Faction Content i think. Went in there and picked what i wanted.

Happened when the MDD came out i think? So should be earlier then later. At least that is how it worked for the Wave II clan stuff.

so nobody has gotten the colors or the cockpit items right? Just want to make sure im not missing it.

I thought I had already gotten the premium just had to activate it. But maybe I just had some laying around I did not know about.
