Yeah, probably not enough tonnage.

I'm tempted to try an AC5/AC2 build with one gun in each arm. Could be fun.
Cheers

The best I can come up with is dual AC5s, dual MGs, and energy of your choice (probably med laser).
There's no way you'll get the kind of tonnage required to make this a solid build.

Yeah. People tell me Vindis can't work either. I prove em wrong, daily. SO I'm sure I can do so here. Though TBH, I'm not that worried....since the 5D is the "Prime" model anyhow. And the 5D is probably my preferred model. Though I got some fun ideas for the 4R, too.

2x AC2s
2x MGs
Max Armor
Endo
FF
That leaves 5 tons for options (ammo, JJ and what to do with energy hard point)
Range flank like a mofo

Well, most people make the kinds of comments applicable to the masses... not the special cases.
When a mech is heralded by the masses, they are also technically "newbie friendly". When a mech is scorned by design, they require "lots more effort to use".
While we have plenty of meta mechs and builds that most newbies aren't able to handle the "most common build", they are also by design easy to learn with. It's an interesting double-edged sword.
When the design of a mech gets all the negative attention.. it's not because people genuinely "hate them" (well, the Spider-5V might be an exception), it's that they wished it wasn't a "handicap" (for a lack of a better term), especially if another mech can do it better. That's the problem with new mech designs... invalidating the previous ones for indirect "planned obsolescence" is how we try to compare things as much as possible until we see the thing in action. There's always something that changes the opinion that isn't obvious from the start.
Enough rambling by me though.

No. I'm talking about people who are "special", but not "special ed".
I'm referring to "out of the box" type of thinkers. Sometimes there is insight we don't consider important or useful... another dimension of thinking really.
General consensus is what it is though. There will always be people that prefer the underdog or opposing view. There's nothing inherently wrong with that.
