I mean, yes, it is obviuslly great for a collector or an every-chassis pilot to have such packs, but what for someone who is personally dedicated to a partucular class only? Now i want to buy Gargoyle and Zeus and get that reward King Krab as well, but without all these lights, mediums and heavies that come along within the packs. What should I do? I definitely could buy an a-la-carte Gargoyle and a-la-carte Zeus but, alas, no King Krab this way. I could also buy Wrath pack and single Gargoyle to have the reward King Krab but doing so will spawn my hangar with lights, meds and heavies I'm surelly do not want to see there. So I am little confused at the moment. What do you fellas think?

What is it about crybaby assault pilots who think they should never have to dirty their feet in the cockpit of a "lesser" mech?

One of each class to appeal to a wider audience.

The King Crab will be available for cbills later if you don't want to spend the money.

Actually I am a primarily medium pilot and I like the idea.

I'm guessing that the reason they organize mech packs into tiers by weight class is because not many people would want the lower weight classes if they didn't. So instead of finding a way to make more people want those lower end mechs, they simply make you have to have them.

In a perfect world, we'd be able to create our own "tiers" by selecting whatever mech you wanted, and as you added more mechs you'd increase the tier and thus get more bonuses (i.e. getting a Zeus and a Grasshopper by themselves in a "custom pack tier" should be the same price as the Panther and Enforcer pack currently is, with the same bonuses as the latter). Sort of like how the Founders mechs were handled.

I think PGI should ask OP exactly what he needs before doing anything.

The increasing weights meshes nicely with the increasing price brackets of the pack.

They should only cater to your desires.

The fact they consider the whole community is a complete outrage to all the pure Assault mech players

As someone who likes collecting mechs I don't really have this problem. However I have always found it strange how ala carte pricing works. If I am a light pilot I can get my 'ala carte' mech for 20 bucks. I find it odd that the panther is even a selection for ala carte pricing. If I only want medium mechs I can save 5 bucks by going ala carte but with all the other bonuses you get that aren't mech related an extra 5 bucks isn't a big deal. When you get into heave and Assault the price gets out of tilt.

I dunno. I buy the whole packs because I like all the mechs. As for the King Crab bonus. That's missing the point. I understand you want the King Crab but it is being offered as a bonus. Complaining about not getting it when you aren't willing to meet the requirements is childish. It's not like you will not be able to buy it for MC or Cbills later.

if you only want assault mechs the compromise is to buy al a carte and accept missing out on some of the bonuses, and given that you are buying only 1/4 of the mechs on offer that way, I don't really see a problem that you are being rewarded less for it.

So it looks like people are mostly O.K. with the current packs containments in one way or another. Well then, my "crybaby childish complaints" seem to get no support here, so I consider this topic's issue closed for myself. Thanks everybody for your comments.

If they were to release a whole suite of mechs, such as 3 heavies and 3 medium mechs then it would make sense to have isolated weight class packages. What PGI is doing now doesn't work so well with that idea but that's not to say it won't change in the future. I'd definitely go for a package of light mechs. It never hurts to play all the weight classes either.

It is kind of stupid to make assaults pay $80 to get the pack, or $50 to get it a-la-carte, when light pilots can just get theirs for $20.

Lights wont get the king crab nor ala carte mech purchase, Zeus ala carte is 35$, If you noticed, heavier mech cost more because duh. KingCrab It requires a top purchase because thats the whole point of the gift to reward people who invested in this game. This thread is about getting a freebie not making everything fair for everyone.

Im sorry NNQM but you WILL be able to buy the kingcrab with mc and or cbills and you can just wait.
