Tag/narc Should Only Pay Out To Lights

The problem is two-fold:
1. Lights can only TAG/NARC. Any other role does not pay
2. Heavies/Assaults can do they same to farm CB. This means people still take assault/heavy as they will always pay more (you get the light role payout by self TAG/NARC and get all the heavy/assault focused payouts).
Ergo, no role for lights.
Only payout CB to lights for TAG/NARC and things make more sense (maybe mediums too)

edit: If this was done, you must include mediums as well.

My mech has LRMs and no non-lock weapons (lasers, cannons) I must get a lock to do damage on anyone.
Therefore I put tag in a prime head or keep the narc or both I guess
Why take the bonus away if I'm in a heavy or assault? LRM 80 assault mech still needs locks...everyone can hit my target now too.

All hardcore LRM boats should carry a TAG. All hardcore LRM boats are either medium, heavy, or assault mechs.

Boost the base payout and reduce the bonuses, so you reward people who are using the gear for their builds, and dont encourage spam

I've been narc'd once in 600 games maybe twice and I'm not exaggerating no one brought it before rewards 2.0
Now I've been Narc'd multiple times and I see a LOT more tag lasers

No.
Narc was bugged to create WAY too much of a payout that saw people abuse the system for a day. Once its back to only rewarding for missile use, you'll see people quickly abandon the platform for something else.
If it was capped to only lights and medium use, then it negates some of the "fast" heavies like Summoners, Quickdraws, and Dragons from using it. (all viable platforms for it.)
The current system is only abused because it is bugged to provide massive payouts. Nothing more.

What mechs do you drive out of curiosity
Man, I never thought ppl would ***** about TOO MUCH money

It's TAG equipped because I'm proactive in getting my own locks, thank you very much. Why penalize me for doing what I'm supposed to be doing? Especially now, with a bunch of front-loaded killers carrying more weapons than I can, with greater speed, and more survivability to boot.

My point is about role warfare and how to reward light pilots without having those same rewards spammed by assaults. (Reference the post about the Atlas-S swapping a SRM-6 for a NARC to have the NARC sit in front of the SRM to farm CB)
I pilot all classes but hate that lights make so much less than assaults; both old and new rewards

Don't get butthurt but you must be playing lights wrong then. My Ember STILL gets consistently more CBills than my Ilya after the reward system change.

Sorry but no. What will happen then is someone will tag a mech for the LRM mech, the direct fire mech will spin and shoot it before the LRMs ever hit home. TAGger gets nothing for their effort.

Then, the straightforward way to bring TAG & Narc back in-line and promote Role Warfare would be to bump the MWO TAG range back down to nearer its BT value (e.g. TAG goes from its current 750 meters to its canonical 450 meters, which happens to also be the MWO range for the Narc).
At that point, the heavier LRM boats that hang in the back could no longer paint targets for themselves, and would instead necessarily need to rely on a lighter (e.g. Light) TAG-equipped 'Mech to act as a spotter - which is how TAG was intended to work (and should have worked) to begin with.

And Lights absolutely can brawl, they're pretty damn good at it.
