I take it you didn't realize this happened months ago.

And I suppose you don't want to learn to play either....

I don't know.. I haven't been here in months maybe? The patch page only shows the most recent update.
And since PGI's version of documentation is word of mouth...
****.

You still suck at avoiding LRMs huh? I'll look for you in game and spot for them so you can then claim you have a NARC that never went away till you died.

They are limited to time now, not damage. Find your friendly neighborhood ECM mech and give them love.

No wonder the human race is going to fail, and gamergate exists.
idiots like mcgral and mercules who thinks they know it all.

That seriously implies you are one of the players we constantly refer to who make LRMs really really good, because they don't understand how to avoid them. Against good opponents LRMs kinda suck.

Are you god damn serious with that? Holy ****. You were wrong, someone pointed out you were wrong and, like myself, was being a smug about it because its the internet, and then you link them to the fail of the human race and even gamergate? You cant be serious, and if you are, blog on your tumblr about it.

Settle down, folks. No need to get irritable.

River: NARCs haven't fallen off with damage in upwards of half a year. It was among the first balance changes that went in to make NARC actually useful. It is an old-news situation, and your own snideness invites people to be snide back, but all a'yaz can settle. There's much better flamewars to be had on this board, after all.

Yes kinda stupid we went from them falling off from damage and almost useless to not falling off from damage boarder line op.

Or, you know, someone might be reapplying them to the mechs that can't figure out how to hide from missiles.

This change was made 7 months ago.

I had forgotten how long NARC has gotten it, and it's taken a while to progressively see more people fielding it.

Today I was running a crow on Tourmaline, firing from a fairly protected area. A Raven barely crested a hill, I fired and hit, he ran, then came the incoming missile warnings. I assume I was narced -- seems like there should be some warning that there is something broadcasting your position stuck to you. I backed into cover more, but the missiles started coming from all directions. There was no way to get away from it, even though I was hugging little narrow paths between the outcroppings around me. It appeared that I had either 3 or 4 boats locked in on me far to the left, to the right, and in front. By the time I could even see the missiles (the outcroppings blocked the view, given their high approach angle) and made it to cover that actually blocked the incoming fire, I had lost an arm, my leg was stripped to structure, and the rest of my ragdoll was lit up from twisting trying to avoid fire over what seemed seconds. All from people who were never in view, at range, on opposite sides of the map, while I was in a covered position.

It was frustrating and we all fell eventually, but no big deal. Not making any judgments here. But...sometimes you just can't avoid it, especially when there are multiple boats on the field. I see a few people in here that seem to make it their quest to insult anyone who has difficulty with LRMs, and I think that's a shame because there are obviously quite a few people that do. Give them a break, let them vent. We all have bad matches, and LRMs do feel like a troll weapon when overused. Clan ripple stun-lock LRMs have emphasized that.

A NARC indicator was the #1 requested thing for a while, especially after the NARC change.

The only time you really notice is if you actually have ECM, where the "counter effect" is extended for a bit.

It certainly makes sense. If I can pick up a missile fired from over 1km away, I should be able to see that I have something screaming "look at me! look at me!" stuck to my hull.

They do no damage themselves, and rely on your pug team having LRMs if you are in the solo queue. They take a ton of weight for just the module, not to mention the ammo. It is not OP at all. You make the sacrifices and carry one and tell me they are OP.

PGI has published copious patch notes on this forum. Right here.

And mcgral is one of the least egotistical people on this forum... so, yeah, good job on that one.
