Russ, I need my Sweet sweet 85 tons of hopping joy, and back mounted bang bang!

So much better and classic then the sad Zeus. why don't you make a few calls and shove that pale lightning ****** aside for a Classic like the Marauder iiC it would fit excellently within the window of post wave 2 clan mechs, and would be a excellent face to the IS getting ready to stomp some clanners!!

Actually it would be jumping and then stomping!

Because it's unseen and thus PGI won't touch it with a barge pole. The 75 ton Marauder would only be popular if it was the original art but that means getting around Harmony Gold and it's team of lawyers. Also, how would it jump? The Marauder doesn't have jump jets =p

Marauder is Harmony-Gold Unseen. Any reseen design has to be run past Harmony-Gold to be legally okay'd prior to inclusion. Harmony-Gold almost lost the rights due to not suing fast enough in the past, and now make up for it by shooting down any recreation regardless of content or appearance.

This is why we can't have anything even named marauder, regardless of appearance. While the IIC is technically considered reseen, the likelyhood of HG getting litigious anyways based on the appearance generally rules out its inclusion. Additionally, I believe it is a standard battlemech with clan tech, which PGI have all but stated will not be happening for balance reasons.

And as covered yesterday, the Marauder could and will eventually be brought online by PGI, I simply would like them to do it sooner rather than later, but by all means keep getting peeved and pissy about it! your only ruining your own day with that negative nonsense, trolling doesn't phase me because I keep a positive outlook!

Nope. It is a IS mech benefiting from the tech advances prompted by the first clan invasion, meaning the "resistance" launch would be the ideal time to do it. Falls right in line with the canon and resource materials.

And the Marauder and IIc have been used before and will be again. On the bright side all the experts barking "HG will sue" is very funny and just repetitive of what they hear from like minded souls, you guys are funny!

The Marauder IIC artwork is also owned by Victor Musical Industries and isn't part of the Battletech licence. Same with all the other clan second line mechs from TRO 3055. Which is most of the mechs from the original MW2 that weren't the omnis. So they're not going to happen for that reason too.

Yeah! they just keep barking "HG will sue!!" because it's what they hear barked first. Lucky for me, and you now... I am others know that the Marauder and IIC can and have been used before and will again. If PGI want's to launch them it is a simple process to make it happen, especially now that PGI is publishing on it's own, one less step.

I don't know why PGI just doesn't make the Marauder and call it the Pink Fluffy Bunny"...

I was involved in the development of a couple flight-sims where where the flipping aircraft manufacturers (<cough>Grumman and Lockheed<cough>) would not let the devs use the aircraft without ponying up major dosh...

The Devs gave them the big middle finger, included the aircraft and just named it some similar fictitious name... I also recall a survey race simulator do the same thing.

I know...I know... it's not the same but hell, I'm kind'a done hearing about how we can't do this and that.

Having said that, I for one wouldn't accept any Marauder that didn't at least resemble the original artwork (with PGI's flare of course). I HATE the Projext Phoenix redesign and I was never sold on the M2. Lots of people are in the same boat.

PGi therefore is stuck between a rock and a HG place.

We all hope HG will wither and die, but it's not likely. I have decided to boycott all HG though, for what it's worth....
