To say I'm slightly pissed at seeing good damage/kill scores invalided as the team collaspes is an under statement
I've not seen so many rolls for, or so many dumb solo charges for ages
do team stuff or pure solo

Marc, I hope you stay in the top 5 too.
I hope I'm in the top 4 ;-)
However, I'm not quite yet - need a few other monster games if I were to have a hope of breaking top 4 (I was #5 last night ...)

then they all ran that way... so i had to keep their rear safe AGAIN. with a raven.
this weekend is full of joke players that can do nothing else but running around like headless chicken.
giving up on this since i get the worst excrements of what is possible in my teams.

Who dare would play a Jenner or a Direwhale or a Timberwolf when they know that's what everybody else wants to do? So now we're seeing everybody in Quickdraws and Griffins and Wolverines and Locusts and Adders. Lot of Adders. And Suckoners.
And is it just me, or are the Highlanders way outscoring the Direwolfs? GO 'Sphere, GO! But Timberwolves are tied with them... so...
thats wrong, because multiple people think like that and therefore these people will have competition as well, causing some really good pilots to enter these mechs hoping for the heasy win, which then is not that easy anymore.
I totally love the chassis wide challange, I can now finally instead of choosing the best chassis of a weght class play my Nova.
it is also interestign to see what chassis turn out way better than they are told to be. which just indicates that some chassis are very compettive but rarely played because either unfun or harder to master than 1 button builds.

I do like seeing all the less-used 'mechs in the field during this challenge.
Perhaps PGI should consider running these kinds of leaderboard challenges regularly, with modest prizes, to encourage play of the less common chassis, allow them data collection weekends, and allow some regular earning of MC by the community.

Without damage done, it's too easy to have people tie. Given assists are not only easier to get, but worth 150 points of damage, damage is hardly the largest mitigating factor in a score, nor is it disproportionately represented.

I fully expect a second running of this a few weeks after the quirks system comes into play.

i'd rather have challenges where players encouraged to act as a team, not as competitors for damage, kills and assists. Say one weight class gets one set of challenge parameters, other - something different - so that if all work towards their goals - all can get better results. Now people mostly get in each others way and thats sad.

Random chance causes problems if you limit the drops that way. Got teamkilled by a troll or bad player? Too bad, that's one of your 20. Got a bad team? Too bad, that's one of your 20. Drop on a map poorly suited to your build? Tough. Get disconnected due to server issues? Tough.
In theory, the top players should tend towards playing each other, and honestly, I find I have better games when the players around me are better and play as a team, because we all stay together longer, but even then, it's often luck based on who's around me. There's also different play styles at different times of day, with prime time EU players tending more towards a slightly more timid long range shoot out, while prime time US players tend to be more willing to brawl. You can do really well if you can take advantage of the shifting meta.

This is certainly true in some chassis. Not sure how people enjoy running those.

If PGI is going to keep on with these "solo" contests, then find a way to truly make them "solo". Otherwise, if we have to rely of team, let it be team play with those we play with in our units.
