I give up. I've spent a total of maybe 4 hours the last two days. In two 1.5 hour stints next to NONE of my matches have taken. Out of about 20 Trebuchet matches It's taken 4 of my best but nothing else. In my 10 Vindicator matches it's only showing 1. I give up.

you need to win these matches. and only the 10 bests are taken of the wins. so when you already have 10 wins you only score if another win exceeds a previous win.

wait! So anything ive done, even if a really good game... and i lose, nothing i did counts?

Well i have played 3 games just to see after a few games how/where my score would be and now i see why my score isnt showing up :(

I see that it awards you 20 points for a win but I didnt read anywhere that you HAD to win for everything you did to count?

it doesn't makes sense that we get 20 score for a win when anayways only wins are counted.

but third point in the rules states:

Quote

Only your best 10 victorious matches in each chassis throughout the course of the event will be counted.

Only wins counts????

If you make 1500dam 5-6 kills but your team sucks so hard even that's not enough -> lose -> no points. Can't make sense...

Tarogato, what's the timeframe for these snapshots? Every 30 minutes or so?
Over about 2.5 hours. First shot was around 1:15pm (EDT, I think) when the very first matches trickled in. The page itself seems to update in chunks, not every time you refresh, nor in exactly 15 minute increments. Between 5 and 15 minutes between each snapshot.

I am proud to report that I am #374 on the Stormcrow board as of the last time I checked. :)

Did anybody else go outside today? :)

I assume for these tournaments to be fair, ELO is taken out of the equasion and we are all playing in a level playing field? This would explain why I get completely wiped out in most battles? Not at all fun to play like that. Was the same way last tournament I just had to find something else to play for the weekend.

PGI is gathering data to re-evaluate the variant Mech-Quirks that they've developed. Everyone participating is play testing the quirks.

Uhmmm.. ..they don't go live until like the 4th so how could they be testing them?? ;)

More likely to be testing how each chassis plays out before developing the final pass.

Read the rules. It should be counting my 10 best matches regardless of wins or losses simply by the match score. However it appears to be counting incorrectly because as I stated it's only counting 5-6 out of 30 matches.

You may need to reread the rest of the rules. It doesn't count losses, only your 10 best victorious matches.

These contests are a fiendishly ingenious method of playtesting for PGI. They've run through groups, they've run through solo, and now they are testing the mechs themselves.

There seems to be a hard-cap ceiling on scores at about 2350 or so. If this is chassis testing, then PGI will be getting lots of data from this. They are only taking the top ten matches from each player, so L2P ******* are auto-invalidated, as are the stomps. Low skill players like me are automatically excluded. The best builds and chassis are being sorted out. The rewards (and other) data tell PGI what motivates people to play a certain chassis.

We're seeing the best players, at their best, in their best chassis and builds. Someone should take a screen cap, and do the number crunching at the end.

I disagree. A lot of people are going with the strategy of playing the least competitive 'mech so they have the easiest success. For instance, the number of Locusts on the battlefield exploded (no, I mean... literally, all the Locusts exploded, it's what they do. =P )

Who dare would play a Jenner or a Direwhale or a Timberwolf when they know that's what everybody else wants to do? So now we're seeing everybody in Quickdraws and Griffins and Wolverines and Locusts and Adders. Lot of Adders. And Suckoners.

And is it just me, or are the Highlanders way outscoring the Direwolfs? GO 'Sphere, GO! But Timberwolves are tied with them... so...

If those "terrible mechs" were "easy to pilot", let me know.

I'm attempting to climb to the top of the kit foxes. Competition has been stiff, and kill steals rampant. Seems like dozens of times I've ripped an opponent apart, one final shot to seal the deal, only to have a pristine kill steal build pop out of nowhere, spray the target and take the kill. I've seen several players sit in cover and wait for team mates to tank damage, nearly kill their target, and once it's about dead, pop out and attempt a steal. I had one match where I did over 900 damage, but just got 12 assists because of my kills being ganked at the last second, mostly by one player in a fast light. The slow, fragile kitfox simply can't be aggressive enough to forcefully take the kill without risking instant annihilation.

This needs to stop. Kills should go to the person who dealt the most damage. Assists should go to those dealing periphery damage, even last hitters. That is the only way we can stop this horrible behavior, and force people to fight or make very few c-bills. This tournament would have been a good time to test this.

First impression: The games are less fun. Seriously considering not playing, at all. Forcing group people into single drops and the other way around is never fun.

You are not being "forced" to do anything. Group drop if you want, or don't. It's you "CHOICE!"

Something that isn't quite clear to me on the competition rules and scoring formula... Only wins count, that has been established. As per previous posts here, Wins give you 20 points. So obviously that number seems pointless.

Unless... and this is what I'm unsure about... Is the Wins * 20 variable only your 10 wins, or can you get more than 200 points for this stat depending on how many wins you have in a chasis over the course of the tourney.

I.e. Only your 10 best games count, HOWEVER the wins variable counts your total wins in that chasis over the weekend, and not just a max of 10?

If this is the case, I might as well drop out now because I simply don't have as much time to grind out wins over the weekend as others. I have other obligations as well.
