The Kirk that could remember his lines or the Kirk that kept forgetting his lines and had those pauses that he is so frequently impersonated with?

So there.... I was sitting in the cockpit...... of my Adder. boldly waiting for the timer to.... count.... down. .....

I didn't really put any heart into it, but scored fair in my chosen chassis. I don't really consider 'scumming' for perfect matches to be a indicator of ability. Not to say those who scored well aren't good at their chassis, no sir, but that it favors people who play more matches and get lucky streaks.

I agree this was more about the luck of the draw with team members then skill. Sure my 6kills 4 assts was nice but when the team dead with the next highest damage only being 230 I stopped caring.

I finally got a good Adder-D build down and it performed well, regardless of the challenge sorce I am happy with this weekend.
The only sad thing is after many changes, tweeks and rebuilds it is almost "stock D" again.....
Oh the wasted cbills!

well, if it's any consolation, if you did know, you probably would have posted how terrible everyone else made it for you.

Went at the Griffin board, with Sparky. Didn't enjoy myself for very long. Was nice to be as high as #8 over the weekend.

But losing the 'get a good team lottery' too often, always when I had a 4+ kill 750+ match, was killing me. Then getting 5 'Most Damage Kills' in so many winning matches, was killing me. Everything bad about this tourney formula was killing me, so I quit because I LOVE playing this game, and I was fringing on hating it.

It's just reassuring to know I'm an okay Griffin pilot.

edit oh and I forgot about losing the matchmaker lottery. My team gets 3x AWS while the other gets 2x DWF and a WHK. That isn't an issue of the tourney though, it just felt worse because I was chasing the board.

Yeah, only counting victories really sucks. I had a few 800-900 damage matches that got thrown out because my derp derp potato teammates. It really sucks.

And some of those "derp derp potato teammates" were probably sick of the tournament morons coring them from behind in order to get the damned kill.

I've never been cored by my own team so many times since I can recall. I was TK'ed twice in two consecutive games by overeager "derp" competitive idiots.

I didn't play, and probably wont during a leaderboard event, there is no way I will be able to jump back into a competition after taking so much time off. I will have to ease back in to a long series of losses while my elo score works its way down to my current (unpracticed) skill level, hopefully my patience holds out.

The second loser in the Jagermech chassis. I felt I did pitifully, but at the same time I knew there was just alot of luck involved. Getting the right team, not overly aggressive, average ability, having the match become a close game, having the right map. I was particularity angry a match I had with 1001 damage 6 kills and 1 assist was a loss. Right now I'm a little depressed I lost, you can tell I'm way too tryhard and way too serious over this silly tourney :P

I think I ranted on this enough in the thread for the tourney itself, and it looks like the majority of other people posting are echoing my words now, which Russ apparently has heard, so I'm good.

As long as they never, ever use that scoring formula again, I think I could do another challenge. And I still stand by having a separate queue for these events, the opt-ins, if it's something realistic to program.

Love this game, but this was the most miserable weekend I've experienced thus far. Hopefully never again.

I was laid up at home with an injured leg so I had some time to kill but I won't participate in this kind of tournament where you have to give up your life and put the diapers on to keep in the top 10. Very poorly designed. Cap the total amount of drops per chassis if you do this again. I was contending for awhile but then I decided I couldn't stand to play anymore. Just got sick of it.

Ok, so now that the challenge is over, what was it for? Info gathering for PGI's nerf hammer battalion? Or just a random Epeen stroking event with MC as the carrot on the stick?

I think they originally wanted use it to showcase the new reward system. However some issues arose and they just decided to go with the old scoring system until they could iron out some of the rewards. I stumbled upon the tournament page moments after it went up and it originally had a different scoring formula. Then they suddenly reverted it.

I was interested in the challenge. I liked the idea of a per chassis leaderboard. Then I saw it was for solo drops only. So I ended up playing EVE over the weekend instead.

I can't remember the formula precisely, but they did use "lance formation", "medium proximity" and "light proximity"

I didnt opted for this chalange becouze I can not force my self to play 1 chasis or 2-3 only I play many diferent mechs daily.

Thing is that during this challenge I had bad experience in playing. The solo mindset was huge I never felt lonely in this game as I did now.I didnt score many kills as I usualy do,not that it bothers me much but at some point I thought that my skill droped and than when U pay some attention U see several ppl waiting till U strip armor and reduce internal HP while also tanking so that they can get a kill I dont mind so called kill steals but cmon do some dmg inbetween.

I think that PGI doin thsese challanges in order to collect data for further balances I just hope that it will work and provide needed info.
