I have no idea how my status looks (no idea how to check lol) but I can tell you I was NOT the best Quickdraw pilot I have ever seen. XD

Anyone who even dares to venture out in that breeze block should be given free MCs.

I did worse than I normally do in my Misery, but I fluctuate (sucktuate?) much anyway, so no biggie. This was mainly a function of me getting bored with the 2ppc + ac10 + sundry medium lasers build last week and boating ERL which I find is really feast or famine.

Style points for me having at least one guy question why I brought a Misery with no auto in the first place. Despite our stellar, quick, intuitive and easy to scroll, read and respond team chat I really didn't have time to reply.

If it makes any difference i didn't see any solo players all weekend only the guys from the top (apart from a few notable exceptions) 15 of any chassis board. You can have your pug matches back.

One thing I didn't do is LRM folks or laser-scrape for assists. I read all the threads about LRMs being the way to go, and maybe that would have been a better path to success.

I did ok, but really when all your weapons have ranges like 360 and 270m, you've got to get in someone's face to get the damage.

One thing which is pee'ing me off now is the higher ELO brackets I'm being put in.

I'm slipping down the rankings because my team mates are complete sausage and I'm barely able to scrape a decent win.

I'm quite confident the guys at the very top of each chassis are massaging their ELO in some way or are sync dropping.

Was as high as 50th in Centurions on Saturday, butt looks like I'm closing out barely inside the top 100. Honestly, if I had gone with a YLW I probably would have done better, but I was rockin' my CN9-AH the whole time. With only 5 tons of ammo to split between the AC20 and 3xSRM4, I'd run out in longer games. I think my best game all weekend was 4 kills, 2 assists, and 709 damage.

Dunno about others, but I'm sure not. I've only run into one of my unit mates all weekend (and we tried to avoid each other like mad, but we ended up face to face and I won).

I wonder if my Elo was just that bad prior, though with some of the names I'm up against from time to time I suspect not too horrible.

After Friday in my SRM Mad Dog I stripped armor, removed all non-essentials and added another ton and a half of ammo - for precisely that reason.

not enough really good games... too many times the assault lance was split by one dude going.... for takeout or something. I did the whole thing in my heavy metal, but started thinking that maybe I would have been better off in the 7333c. I needed to zombie in order to last longer in some fights, and the HM does not zombie. My build also was not face tank friendly enough.... I needed to stay in the support assault mode more often. Again, I think the c or another would have been a better build and more solid performer.

If you had 10 matches like that with about 6 assists then you would be in top 5 for sure. I am surprised how well the Orion pilots are doing. I have 2, 5 kills 550ish damage 5 or 6 assist matches, a bunch of matches not to far off that and still in 8th place..... 5th highest I have been so far.

Now 8th after slipping back from 5th in the Cent table.

And I reiterate I'm getting pretty annoyed because I'm getting consistently grouped into a bad team.

Granted I got off to an excellent start and as time progressed I've been getting gradually worse.

Which begs the question: is this a fair competition at all what with the dreadful ELO system? Is this ELO working correctly? Is this a truly fair competition?

With 5 or 6 hours to go I fully expect to drop out of the top 10 and receive no prize at all.

Also, mad props to anyone on multiple lists. Cookie is on both Orion and Dragon ... a true masochist.

Firestarter -Rank 29 - 1818 points.

Main Chassis:
FS9-Ember: 4xML 4xMG
FS9-A: 6x SPLAS 1x TAG/ 4x ML 1x ERLL

Best Match: 8 kills, 4 assists, 789 damage.

Why? I didn't even get ten wins because of terribad teammates.

Also I have a job and a wife so I can only play max 2 hours a day and none on weekends.

How can I increase my score? If PGI would make tournaments week-long instead of weekend only.

I was No. 12 on the Locust Chassis Leaderboard with a score of 1492 as of Friday night. I then sunk to No. 20 (or perhaps a little lower) by Tournament's end, because I couldn't play at any point after that initial run.

Getting onto the scoreboard at 15 was a piece of cake. Moving up from there was work. As a Locust, you are very much dependent on the team you drop with. If your team dies quickly, you will be facing one hell of an uphill battle to secure any points. I also tended to secure my own kills rather than other peoples'. In fact, more often than not it was everybody yoinking kills from me. This is not the way to play to move up in the ranks, but it did make me feel rather accomplished about my prowess.

There was also a lot of one-shotting. Those matches sucked. :(

Generically speaking, I've had a horrible time with the tournament.

I generally consider myself a Catapult master, with over 4 million mech XP across my 4 variants. Upon the onset, I thought to myself, nothing less than 1st would be acceptable (2nd if a fellow Catapult specialist competed well). Well, it's been nothing but disaster after disaster. I did a rough calculation that in order to drop my K/D ratio from 3.05 to 2.95 I would have to lose some 30 matches without a kill... I am now sitting at a 2.91. With 1 hour left, I'm sitting in 7th.

I figured it was because I had inflated my Elo so high in the group queue in my Timber Wolf (heavy Elo class); as such I thought I was terribly over-rated playing an underpowered mech. But then I ran into the #1 Catapult player. He was on my team, and I thought to myself; "Aha! Welcome to my Elo bracket. Prepare to get owned!" Well, he delivered some 900 dmg, 2 kills 7 assists in a C1 compared to my 350 dmg with a single kill in my prized Jester.

There's no excuse now. Humiliated and despondent, my poor Jester has a long road ahead of her to regain her dignity as a battlemech to be feared rather than laughed at. :(
