Had a look through the forums and did not see this question. Wonder what players think of the warhorn speaker designs. I know some players hate the entire idea of warhorns but I do find there are a few I actually like. As example the Yard Sale warhorn sound very war of the worlds like and cool. That said it looks like some garage sale piece of crap. The sonic boom speaker is quite modern and fits in with the cockpit design but most of the others look terrible regardless of sound track.

Can there be a more generic or design choice for a speaker with the option to adding the sound liked?

What I would like to see (or hear) is a preview of the sound the warhorn makes when you click on it as I'm always forgetting the sound they make.

I quite like the system along with the wavelength stretching if the mech is moving away from you or towards you.

My favourite is the envious eardrum.

The Yardsale warhorn is my favourite, but it really, really, really, really, really bothers me that it looks like less like something you'd mount on a 31st century mech and more like something that belongs on this vehicle.

Spoiler

And who the hell mounts warhorns so they're pointing directly at your pilot's face? Seriously? So my enemies are supposed to hear my warhorn as the sound bounces off my bleeding eardrums and echoes through my cannon-proof cockpit glass?

True the design of them leaves a bit to be desired but I like the concept.

It was one of the USPs of the Heavy Metal back in the day and I used to love piloting that with a Gauss + 3xLL setup before the charge mechanic was implemented.

I wonder if the Heavy Metal's "built-in" warhorn could be changed/modified in some way?

The warhorns have been consistently mocked since their inception.

At first I hated it, now its all right I guess... Just add a preview play on the menu in game and a option to show it or not on the cockpit. I dont mind the sound, but those horrible hanging **** is distracting as hell...

All I want is for PGI to increase the warhorn range to their original distance.

Right now I only have warhorns in obnoxious mechs ... TDK (right by his Atlas statue), Adder because most of the time they surprise and shock me when they go off; too distracting.

And rightly so.

Frankly I'm surprised they don't generate cockpit shake themselves.

I actually just want there to be a distinct sound when I kill and enemy that only I can hear. Hell just a simple, "Enemy Destroyed" from the computer voice would be awesome. I would actually even pay for that.

As far as cockpit items, honestly I do want or like anything that is going to obscure my field of vision or otherwise distract me from paying attention to the match so ALL cockpit items are pretty useless for me.

When I land a '20 in just the right place, I would like the entire vicinity to know that my black Wang has a great aim when shooting its load.

At least give me something to cheer about in this damn game!!
