A quick attempt to save a few peoples sanity on embedding youtube videos on the forums.

First, find the video you intend to spam on the countless masses. To share the video ignore the share button URL, you want to copy the top address highlighted below.

Second, find the link button on the post editor (highlighted in yellow) and paste your youtube link. Hit OK! AND BEHOLD THE MAGIC OF THE INTERNET!!!!!

Congratulations! You just learned how to spam youtube videos, show some restraint for F*&% sake

Although this merely shows how to link a video and not actually embed it as a playable video within a post, I think this was a great guide that was written in a way that the target audience would understand ;)

posting the original video http:// in the link button produces a embedded youtube video, if there is another way using the embed code provided by youtube I would enjoy knowing both ways, but in the end. the result is the same B)

Posting a link to a YT video hasn't produced an embedded video in any of my posts yet. Perhaps the forum post editor hates my Chrome browser? I just use media tags to embed videos. I wasn't going to mention media tags, but Vashts1985 already let the cat out of the bag on this thread.

No need for any code. Just copy and paste the youtube address from the browser and the forum software here will automatically embed the video in your post.

Here you have a nearly 5 minute long video of someone explaining how to press CTRL+C (or CTRL+X) and CTRL+V... beats me why you need more than 30 seconds to explain this though ....

True. It automatically detects it and wraps it in [media] tags. I believe it does the same for images, not 100% sure though.

But the advantage of using code is that you be a little more flexible with it :(

I have tried every way mentioned on this thread before when trying to post videos in other threads. It never works.

Except once and I have no idea what I did to make it work.
