There is much about the ui that is irritating. And there's just had a big patch and many of these things seem to be remain. It's frankly very poor of the not to give the UI a once over and sort these things.

This begins even with the launcher where clicking in the middle brings up my default browser, whereas click in the 6 menu links at the top bring up IE.

Within the the actual program, a lot of this mainly has to do with sorting, filtering, navigating of the mechs. It could be so much nicer and easier to see your mech config or sell buy components or give the ability to save different mech setups. Hell even the mwo.smurfy-net.de web site does it better! Get them to do it PGI! Don't you guys have a whiteboard :P

Being that the UI is the first thing people see, can i asked why these things don't get looked at or is it just that people get used to working around these issues?

I think it's because they think the user experience means very little... actually I thought I read somewhere that there is a UI overhaul in the works... ....

Maybe someone knows more about that... I saw... 2016 for it I believe...

My guess is time and money. What you think is little may actually take a significant amount of time to do. Do you want simple UI fixes or do you want CW?

For the time being, PGI has bigger fish to fry.

Maybe but all these things put people off. OK for the die hards but yes as you say it does seem the user experience is down on the list of priorities. I notice PGI are hiring though! I hope someone to sort this out.

I think it would be a good balance in patches to implement one UI fix/tweak per patch. Like first patch, module stripper, second patch, omnipod stripper, third patch, etc...

While they would be hard to work on altogether, a small revision every patch would be nice to see.

I wonder why did they abandon old style beta mech lab. Where you could see all your mech parts at once (kind of like when you click mech details now) and insted gave us this horrific confusing new one.

'Let's sit together and think, how to make our players make at least 10 mouse clicks for any action. And how to make them stare at every screen for at least half a minute before they can find what they need'.

Honestly, UI 2.0 should be punished by prison sentence. It's the most atrocious abortion of a game interface.
It's hostile to any logic and to any usability. This irrational abomination of hundred clicks for the simplest tasks makes me play the same builds all the time, as I risk my nervous system trying to change anything or go beyond mech selection.
Just copying smurfy's was too hard, I guess..

I understood and appreciated it when they first released it. Figured it was the bones to make it intuitive and flow nicely....
Well now it's been a looong time and I'm still not used to it and fairly annoyed by it. There are times I don't even want to bother and pick another mech. Putting together different load outs is supposed to be fun. So I do it in smurfy.

Edit: exporting from smurfy and importing to the game would have been a wonderful work around for the time being..

Took them almost a 6 months to put mech stats in the store. You know where they make money! I don't understand their reasoning sometimes.
