The solution to this is very simple: Be a TEAM PLAYER and carry the ECM on your mech - problem solved.

This way you will be assured of ECM coverage each and EVERY match you bring your ECM equipped mech into.

If you don't want to run an ECM equipped mech, don't QQ when the team drops without ECM. It's the luck of the draw.

What you fail to understand is that bringing ECM yourself doesn't mean both team will get it, you can end-up in a team with 3-4 while the other team still has none. No challenge = no fun. Mostly a solo queue thing as far as I'm concerned, large groups have more control over the matter, but the MM can be cruel in the solo queue.

1) Weight balancing within 50 ish tons
2) Ecm balancing with a +- 1 variance
3) Clan mech balancing
4) Remove Elo forever

I really don't see why people seem so negative about this; you could adjust some of the OP meta builds and +weight them to balance them out. That is essentially the BV system people have been asking for in place of Elo. Want to use Double Gauss? +20 ton weight balancing. Using a Direwolf/Timberowlf +20 ton weight. Want to use some crazy front loaded DPS build like 5x UAC 5.... +25 weight balancing. No matter how good you are you will not carry a team in a build with a "budget" weapon loadout.

That would balance things out a lot faster than quirks. I think a lot of people would stop playing the ultra heavy face r*pe builds. That would make the game a lot more fun and balance things for everyone. It would also be a lot more entertaining when you think of the 240 ton drop if that super OP direwolf build cost you more than half of your total points.

They have said IS will be equal to clan. So they need to step up and fix it. Quirks won't work because they force such a narrow build to make them viable. Please show me how you're going to quirk an Atlas K to rival a Direwolf. You'd basically need to add +40 side torso structure and something equally ridiculous to weapon heat and fire rate. But then that Atlas would be completely OP compared to the Awesome. It would be so much easier to just +weight the Direwolf.

This would be far simpler to the game to calculate than Elo + weight+mech type. You can let people play wtf they want and you can have 1200 ton drops or you might have 800 ton drops. The total weight doesn't matter because the game would not allow for more than a 50-25 ton difference respectively.
