And even if you fix 100%, someone, somewhere, will till you fixed absolutely nothing.

PGI have certainly come a long way in communications since they got a divorce from IGP and we are seeing a speed up in changes of which I am thankful for. Even the forums are better to come and read than in the past and I have no problems that there is a heavier moderation here because previously the forums were full of poison and vitriol.

But, sometimes they will get things wrong. They certainly are not perfect and we shouldn't see them as that way. What is different though is that there is now a greater chance they will try to amend issues faster than in the past. It is not possible to keep all players happy with changes either as they try to keep things balanced. Such is life...

PGI now are more open to listening to us and giving us more information. Definitely no complaints concerning this.

Overall, things are better now than in the past.

Cheers,
Eboli.

I think people had their own ideas of what Quirks were going to mean, and some of the quirks don't match that.  While I will admit to questioning a few of them myself, I've only seen one that really makes me scratch my head (The K2 missing PPC quirks).  Between that, and the "I want it now" mentality, you get a lot of screamers.

yes, i headscratched on that one as well...i believe i have pinpointed the reason however,
the K2 is a "skirmisher" with means mid-range, and the PPC is a "support" i.e. long range weapon

doesn't make it any less of a head-scratcher, just kinda makes it follow some sort of pattern. ill live with it, but i don't wanna run my K2 as a meta-ballistic build...so i won't, i might switch from ppc to lpl to get the duration buff...thats about it.

lol fair point.

We'll just shovel that blame on the hotels managing partner who was subsequently ejected from the 12th story penthouse suite.

If the signs are still up next year...we've got some problems.

i laughed way too hard at this....seriously, mountain dew from the nose...it shouldn't be that funny, but it was....

At any rate all this love is compelling me to actually go enjoy the game that comes with these forums.

Cya on the field.

Wait, there's a game we're talking about? I thought this was Forumwarrior Online?

i have noticed a renewed wave of discontent the last couple days....pgi has been awesome, i guess all the whiner threads are nitpicky stuff...so that seems like a step in the right direction...keep it up PGI.

haters gonna hate.
trolls gonna troll.

ignore them

To be fair, I can understand some of the angst. In the payout threads I can sympathize with those who have lost some income. But it doesn't mean I agree with their wants on the issue. We all get cranky when things aren't going our way. How we carry ourselves is a statement of character though.

Yeah I can totally sympathize. If I was making more, then started making less...id be upset.

I just kind of have less sympathy when its a case of "Hey im making less cbills" Oh, man why dont you do _____, then you can make more cbills "well I dont want to do that."

Well then...thats your own fault. You cant help those who refuse to help themselves.

All things considered PGI is doing a pretty good job I think as well, and the changes are definitely noticeable since they cut ties with IGP.

Are things perfect, no. I understand people get frustrated and post. Personally though I am enjoying the game despite my moments of frustration and look forward to it continuing to progress at the improved pace we are seeing.

This is a complex community/ player base and a niche' game. I do not envy their position of trying to please everyone while keeping a viable game for attracting new players.

To be fair, not wanting to NARC/TAG is a reasonably fair argument. Fortunately, that'
s not the only thing you can do to help with CBills.

Yeah I totally get that. I dont want to either. But the payout is so good its just silly not to run a raven 3 matches before I do anything else. Takes 20-45 minutes depending on how long each match is and how well I do. But it easily, in those 3 matchs, makes over a million cbills. Then I can suck wind with 50-80k payouts when I suck in my other mechs.

Why must people complain... without PGI we would have to complain about not having a game like this lol.

Number 1 rule for a game developer is to realise that the people who go on your forums is not the same as the people who play your game. Only a fraction of players visit here, don't pay too much attention to us...

I think youre doing good PGI.

And I was a heck of a critic. The entire front page of the general discussion may be complaints, but my enjoyment has increased, and I like the recent and upcoming changes.

Still want inverse kinematics and my sweet armor flaking back. But. Youre doing a hell of a job.

Every change you make will have detractors, whether or not its a good or bad change. Even when its a bad change, someone will tell you its a good change.

So uh. Keep up the good work :P

I agree matey. PGI really has made a big effort lately, one I appreciate. In fact I only have one issue with the game now, timid playerbase.
Which I guess, is only a small thing considering.
I was especially impressed with how Russ handled the king Crab fiasco and got something sorted for the IS purists quickly-liking the more open communication.
Exactly how it should be!
Keep it up guys!
