not sure where the report bug section is but here goes

in a vindicator 1AA on forest colony

can't figure out how to simply paste an image for you but I'll copy the location down

also having trouble alt tabbing from the non-game screens (mechlab etc.)

please add a bug report section to the forums and make it so that copy and paste gets you screenshots if you want more of this. this method is like pulling teeth

You're in the right place for bug reports and the MWO-forum has no upload-feature for pictures. You have to find a picture-hoster yourself and put the link to that pic into the thread.

The important thing are those coordinates so you don't really have to bother with a screenshot anymore if you don't want to.
