I think that there is a better way of making the current game achievements actually worthwhile to pursue, it is just plain boring now, e.g. no one is going to know if you made 1000 headshots and for people who actually played long enough to do that, they certain deserve more than a few GXP. I think "Warthunder" (an aircraft simulation mmo) has a pretty decent idea on that, getting new paintjobs unlocked as you progress, kill marks...pin-ups...and even custom designs submitted by the gaming community.
I think that MWO can perhaps adopt that idea to a certain extent, by having certain camo patterns unlockable ONLY through achievements and not just MC. It isn't just about the mech looking pretty, once in awhile we see golden mechs in a game, sometimes met with ridicule or even being deliberately targeted by friendlies and hostiles alike with people go like "LOLOL Look at the Golden Nova!" rather than "Hey team, that guy has the 1000 headshot/solo kill/avg600 dmg per match Camo pattern, everyone target him before he kills us!" Although an eye-catching paint job may not be the wisest choice strategically, but those with the skills to back it up can do so without fear,
Also as I have mentioned here:

I hope that there will be an overall attempt to make the gameplay more rewarding. I feel that the current problem is that you unless you jump to the next chassis after you mastered one, you are going to have a crapton of mech exp you can't use unless you decide buy MC to convert them.
Also, this pisses me off everytime i see it in the store, it goes like this, "You have insufficient MC, would you like to use cbills instead?" Are you trying to make us accidentally use MC? There should be extra safeguards and make cbills the default payment method in stores, the wording of this sentence just makes you look bad without achieving anything of value.
