LRMs must be changed to require LOS to get a lock, and keep a lock.

And given a substantial speed increase to compensate.

And buffed considerably to not be a useless direct fire weapon.

Changes to the Jesus Box would be required, and PGI can't have that.

Dont stand out in the open.

I play mostly assaults, Dire Wolf, Warhawk, and Atlas. I never use ams or ECM.

Why do I not have an issue with these broken lrms?

LRMs are not killing anything right now unless you are an LRM60 or something. They are just to wear stuff down in MWO so dropping the damage by 10% will do squat. 90% of players just bring them as back-up and they will always do that.

Here is the fix for LRM spam though. Restore the Gauss Rifle to normal functioning when just one is mounted, meaning, no de-sync. Speed PPCs back up to 1300-1500 mps. With this done players have two things. Weapons to counter LRM boats and weapons that take the place of LRMs in the load-out. Result: LRMs all but disappear because they are junk. Till then, get used to LRMs, nerfing them won't make any difference, they are the only long range weapon in MWO.

LRM's are fine. What I don't think is fine is how easy and dirt cheap...FREE it is to indirect fire. Spotter just locks and it rains. I think it should be not so simplified...like maybe you have to equip extra equipment / modules to be-able to indirect fire....be more specialized.

Right now it's just free.

Cause you always stand at the back.

And the issue isn't lrm's used to soften targets the issue is the spam-rain of dozens of LRM5s, 10s, 15s flying from hidden, and therefore non-hittable, mechs spreading the cheese thickly across this game.

UAVs don't have battlemech armor, so a laser that no longer can harm battlemech armor at a certain range would still be able to do damage to a delicate UAV.

Firing LRMs while you have direct line of sight to something is more effective than indirect fire, more of the missiles hit the target.

You don't need LRM 60 to kill something, LRM 15 can do decent damage as long as you have direct line of sight, and Artemis only works with direct line of sight too. Most people that have even an LRM 5 probably try to use up all their ammo in the first 5 minutes of the match with indirect fire, so probably never use LRMs alongside their lasers at medium range with direct line of sight. I can understand, that big circular reticle is distracting when trying to line up laser shots.

LRMs are generally fine BUT they do punish those who get caught out in the open - and I wish the MM would somehow try to balance ECM too. It sucks when your team has none and they have 3 or more...

Also, that River City spawn near the aircraft is HELL for a slow mech who will often find the missiles flying in within 10 secs of the match starting. Needs to be moved to the other side of the aircraft.

As it stands now, every 'mech comes equipped with a weightless C3 Master and a weightless C3 Slave which allows all team members to share targeting information between each other. Soon as that is removed there will be no more spotters in the field without the use of NARC or Target Acquisition Gear or UAV.

That alone would make the gameplay a bit more interesting as it already is instead of adjusting the weaponry itself.

In fact my best match was a 1307 game in a Boar's head with AC/20 and 6 md pulse laser

When the effect that LRM's have on a game can vary due almost exclusively to the skill of the players involved indicates a USER ERROR and not an hardware or software issue.

With absolutely no sarcasm intended and with the complete wish to help you with LRM's, please Learn To Play.

PGI/Russ is expecting a 10% damage nerf to cause players to use 10% fewer LRMs, but I suspect that such an assumption is faulty.

Given some of the new upcoming IS mech quirks + BAP range buff, LRM users will actually increase, not decrease.
I know I am excited as hell to spam the queue with AWS-8R. Just spent 12,000,000 C-Bills on it.

The 10% nerf already happened. LRM's went from 1.1 to 1.0. His 10% post was a joke on them forgeting to remove the temp buff LRM's had.

Do people not read the patch notes anymore?

Smurfys would disagree.
