The PDF list doesn't specify if it's just the regular AC5 or if UAC5s are also included.

The Ultras only benefit from the generic quirks rather than the AC/5 specific quirks. That's how weapon-specific quirks work.

Now I have to figure out if it's worth putting 3x AC5 on the BNC-3E or keeping the 2x UAC5 plus the AC2.

Yeah, none of the specific quirks carry across alternate versions. PPC and ERPPC don't share, AC5 and UAC5 don't share, LL, ERLL, and LPL don't share, none of the SRMs share with each other, none of the LRMs share with each other, etc.

I assume that Artemis IV launchers share with the standard versions.

No, the Ultra and the normal AC-5 are different.

If I recall the three mechs that get an Ultra AC-5 quirk are the:

Grid Iron Hunchback hero
Jagermech DD
Orion-K

Which is part of the point of Quirks. Welcome to Diversity, twin sister of Hard Choices.

Absolutely not.

You could also try 2x ac5 and 2x ac2 to take advantage of the ac5 specific... but as said above the ultras only get the benefit of the general ballistic quirk.

I think the 2x uac5 and 2x ac2 is still better DPS if that is what you are going for.

2xUAC5 + AC2 with quirks, modules and fast fire skill, 0.63 sec macro: 19 dps, 24 tons weight + ammo

**** that! PGI needs to get rid of this allowing people to macro ****. This isn't WOW where you have 40 different skills you can Marco. Why can't people play as intended. Marcos don't need to be allowed in a shooter.

Thanks for the information. I did not realize you could reliably get that much more DPS from the ultra/ ac2 combo. Makes sense though I guess since you can double tap on the ultra fairly reliably with a decent feel for the timing even without a macro.

Now if I could just bring myself to slow down my banshee enough to try it. Just so hard for me to run much less than a STD350 in them if possible. Guess that is why I stick with the 3x ac5 build. :(

Not quite "reliably", it works more like "burst" fire build, you have superior dps but you can lose it fast due to jam chance.

That's why you fit the 4x ML in chainfire. Use 1 each time a gun jams to maintain the dps.
