Alright. Here it is on the table. CW is coming. We get to drop in a handful of Mechs.

This means that LRM's will see more use.

I'm not going to waste my time suggesting that LRM's get nerfed, downgraded, or anything else like that. THEY ARE FINE AS IS!!! Get the point. The subject is dead, beaten to death long ago!

So here it is. As part of CW on some future map, install short towers topped by an AMS system as part of military bases. The AMS itself would be vulnerable to weapons fire and have limited ammo, but it would help protect you from LRM's while it functioned. These towers would be a permanent feature on these maps, and would not vanish if the map selection would choose Conquest or some other mode for the map. It would be part of your home base or drop point, helping to protect it against attack. Each base would have 1 to 4 AMS defense towers as part of these military stations (provided that the map allows for the placement of the installation). These still leaves room for the free for all slaughter, but also grants the application of protective defensive structures on others.
