tbh since i installed PPC in my QKD i only found that PPC-motion and enemy mech motion seem to be a bit off sometimes...
for example: i pre-aim a bit on a walking shadow hawk. shot goes through it. migth be a little pug/ping/netcode problem at that point. (am uploading the vid currently on YT)

so maybe the ppc-effects are not really a indication where your shot currently is but a bit slower/faster, depending on ping/area you live in.
for other weapons... maybe the same problem?!? especially SRM and ballistics that could be a problem.

The real question is why only sometimes? Why am I not registering, but hits on me are? And other times, with the same mech, everything seems to register OK.

My worst case so far was after a number of minor skirmishes (I figured I had delivered around 150-200 points of damage so far) I got stuck facing a DireCheese at about 100m with no ready escape route. I dumped 4 sets of 4 SRM6+Art salvos into the largest known CT in the universe before I got wasted. But I guess even that CT wasn't large enough... only 34 points of total damage for the complete game... skirmishes plus DireCheese.

UAC's have the same issue - was circling another mech with dual UAC's firing point blank at the enemy who was also circling - crosshairs were right over target, no range so no lead needed - over 50% of shots didn't register. Thought my aim was off so tried leading the target - missed all those shots cause they missed- I could see them miss. That was in my CN9-AH,

Same thing happens in my victor 9B with dual UAC's. A lot of the shots don't register when they clearly visually hit.

There are some mechs where the shots seem to go through their arms/legs, the crow or the lights.

But worse is that sometimes an (ER)PPC hits, the cross gets red, but no dmg is counted.

But while lasers seem to register better after last patch, the rest of weapons seem to have more problems - at least thats what I am told by lots of people. I am myself a laser and PPC guy ;)

Bought a AWS-8Q last night to try and, for me, around 1 in 4 shots wouldn't register as a hit. I didn't count up number of hits to check against the damage to confirm whether they did or not, but the PPC would hit dead center, but the reticle didn't turn red, and the paper doll didn't appear to register any damage.

This was also against non-moving targets, (although against moving targets it was worse, but that could be my aim) and it seemed to happen more often when I was chaining shots, rather than Alpha striking. Although, it could be that one (or more) of the PPC's was actually missing when I used an Alpha, and only one or two PPC's would register.

not only going through but some mechs seem to ignore ballistic damage completely or what kind of spider do you know surviving 2 uac 20 fired simultanuously in its back, showing the explosions and running away as if there was nothing

Noticed this a TON on a 2x PPC VND-1AA build. On really hot maps I would set them to chain fire, and the first PPC would hit, while the 2nd PPC would be fired at the same place and miss.

You know the hitreg is bad when you find yourself struggling to do 400 damage in a laservomit Timberwolf.
54 alpha strike and sub-400 score? So I only hit them 7 times?

I have to add my observation to the score. It is enough that I am going to stop playing for a while till they fixed this. The lower polling rate of the servers (is PGI trying to save money on data centers?) has been affecting hit rates, including lasers and PPCs, and is also causing mechs to moonwalk across the landscape (avatar desync issues). Hitting lights are quite difficult because they just warp here and there.

I have to agree, I've seen a good contact splash against enemy mechs again and again and again but they seem to register little damage, even up close.

I can't believe the insanity of holding a faction challenge when people are reporting that the hit registration is so highly suspect. Gee, sounds like a fair challenge to me. NOT!!!

Hit an overheated FS straight in the back with 2 54point alphas ... guess what, no damage at all ...
Hit a still standing Spider from under 100m with 2 doublegauss, 4 erl and 6 erm combined ... sidetorso yellow, yaayy !
Hit a cherry-red center-crit Cenurion walking straight at me with 12 lgpl into his open center, he shoots his ac20 once and my yellow armored, non-crit sidetorso with 50 armor is gone instantly, really ?

One tip guys ... DONT PLAY ON TOURNEY DAYS, bad things are gonna happen just because PGI seems to be unwilling or unable to fix these very long-standing and permanently ongoing hit-registration issues .
Grmblfjx,can someone at PGI maybe acknowledge the problem most officially and finally DO something about it ?
And maybe stop those useless LAN-tests of hitcode ^^ ...
