2 Assaults Vs 2 Lights...

I had a most excellent match.
It started like average Pug affair and i thought my team was gonna fail. We spawned lower and went up through the city. Some went down to the B4/C4 area, rest went mountain side of jumpship for some family fun.
We started losing mechs. I was harassing an Atlas which i almost cored from behind. Things were getting worse so i went from harass mode to vulture mode looking for any kill before it was too late. I think we lost a Scarecrow. I look up at the numbers and we are back in the race.
Then it came down to a Whale and Battlemaster on Red team and a Commando and my Spider for our team. We were doin drive byes trying to get behind as the other was running to hide.
They were cored and my legs were bare with one deep red.
Any one good shot would have killed anyone.
They did the smart thing and backed up to the building in C4. I was trying to get crazy rooftop shots but just couldnt crack the shell.
Ended in a tie and was probably the most exciting match i ever played.
Big shouts to ThreeStooges, Blightsun, and CULLIN for the awesome match!
A rare PUG indeed.

Looking nice inded.
I had a nice match once against a Raven in my Warhawk.
That guy was an expert on sneak attack.
His ECM helped him a lot

Sounds like everyone was playing well! I've found I've had the most fun in PUGs to be honest. Group games tend to be rolls (which can be kinda fun, but never super fun).

Yes, assaults now tend to think about Lights... Meds still ignore Lights if there is another target to shoot at... And Lights, looks like, loosing qualification, often standing, not looking around... easy prey.

MWO isn't all about grabbing the biggest, heaviest metal and standing toe-to-toe with the nearest opponent untill you live or die. It can be, but it doesn't have to be (and it definently isn't the only fun way).
I like the Raven 3L and do well. Now I have been playing the Locust (mostly 3M) more post quirk. That mech has been a riot. The 3M with 5 SPLasers is a fun little ride. It has also been brutal on light mech legs because of the descent alpha damage and short beam duration.
Does well against the big boys too. You just need to keep in mind your cover and escape route when you play if things go south.
I have also been trying to level up my Atlas's too (since I have the one gift mech and one Founder's one). That has been a nightmare. I HATE and I mean HATE playing the Atlas (and many other Assault mechs). I don't know how you people do it LOL.
Raven 3L KDR is 2.24
Locust 3M KDR is 1.24, but was under 1 before the quirks took effect. I think it will top out at about 1.5~1.7 when all is said and done.
Atlas AS7-S KDR is 0.5
Misery (Stalker) KDR 0.33
Seriously, I HATE assaults LOL.

And people claim lights are bad why?
Seems this game is going the direction of other MW games, where assaults seem good, but in the end arent really..
